Stuffy heaviness descended on the room.

What a fatal mistake.

Gu Hai and Gu Wei Ting both sagged in their own thoughts. The same thought.

Bai Luo Yin should have never been brought here.

Gu Wei Ting was the first to shake himself out of the shock. "Bring in the doctors! Now!" He roared at the small army of soldiers behind him.

It was a good thing that Gu Wei Ting lived at the base, where hundreds of surgeons, specialists, and doctors were constantly a minute away.

In a span of thirty seconds, dozens of medical professionals flooded the room. All hovered over Bai Luo Yin's lifeless body before they lifted him up on a gurney, and speeded toward the hospital's base.

Gu Wei Ting along with his small army of sixty left to attend their order of the day. Leaving everything to the hands of the medical's staff. Even if they wanted to, there was nothing more they could do for Bai Luo Yin at that point.

Gu Hai was abandoned alone in his childhood room to swim in the sorrowful pond of his own tears for the next fifteen minutes, until the freezing effect of the paralyzer wore off, and evaporated.

The second he regained control over his limbs, and was able to move them properly, he stormed into the base's hospital like a violent wind. Grabbing the first doctor he identified as one of the people that carried Bai Luo Yin into the ambulance. "Where is he? Where is Yin Zi? What did you do to him, huh? Roll him out to me right now!"

The doctor's hand indicated at the surgery room, but before he was able to open his mouth to explain and inform Gu Hai with all the details, said man already sprinted toward the surgery room's doors. The doctor ran after him. At the last minute, with the help of his friends, he successfully prevented Gu Hai from entering the room mid-surgery.

"Mister Gu, you have to calm down," he said out of breath. "He is mid-surgery. If you will barge in there right now, you will interrupt the surgeon's concentration, and he might make a mistake. Colonel Bai's femoral artery had been severely cut. He has a very serious internal bleeding. This is a crucial time for him. You need to let us do our job, and treat his wound. If we will wait with his treatment, or pause during it, he will die within minutes. Luckily, we were called out on time, so, if you will let us fulfill our duties properly, I can guarantee you; he will come out of here alive."

Gu Hai's heart writhed and agonized with unbelievable pain. He reluctantly took a seat on the hospital's bench. "Please tell me he won't lose his leg..." he begged.

"I am sorry mister Gu; I can't tell you that. The fact that he is alive, is a huge miracle per itself. Our best and brightest are with him; they will do their best to assure his full recovery. But we are not God. We can't promise you what you are asking for. Please be patient until we will declare him to be out of danger."

Having no choice, Gu Hai spent the next few hours pacing outside the surgery room. His ashen gaze stuck on the hospital's depressing, cold floor. How did he let this happen? If he would had known that things will turn out that badly, he would have enlisted long ago in a heartbeat. Letting Bai Luo Yin suffer, and bleed out like this, does he even worthy of being with him anymore?

His beating conscious sucked him so deep down the oblivion that he didn't notice when two nurses rolled out Bai Luo Yin's hospital bed out to the recovery room.

"Mister Gu," the operating surgeon called for his attention. "Colonel Bai has been transferred to the recovery room. You can see him now."

"Did he lose his leg?" He asked without lifting his gaze.
