May 25th.- Thursday.

Two and a half weeks later.

When life grasps people with its two big hands and keeps them overwhelmingly busy, they tend to lose track of time. Consequently, it was inevitable for HaiYin to nervously realize that the day of their housewarming party has arrived. In their minds, they celebrated signing the contract together eighteen-plus style just yesterday, and colonel Bai has completed his service just the other day. In reality, almost three weeks have passed since then.

They stayed at the diamond building day and night just to ensure that the first month of the new branch would result in total success. Their efforts produced ripe fruits, but dedicating a hundred percent of themselves and their time to the company left them with no time to prepare for the party.

At the last minute, they contacted Gu Yang, asking him to send them some hired help. And so, Bai Luo Yin found himself clocking out of the workday early, while Gu Hai tarried behind at the office with no spare time to cook.

About the time the hired help showed up, a buoyant head of a certain Yang Meng popped behind them. During the past few weeks, he did nothing but wait for Liu to come home. He even frequented the base daily out of boredom.

No job, no children, no friends, just him with his homesick thoughts. If one were to ask him, he would have sworn with all sincerity that those weeks were the most miserable, fulfillment-sucking weeks of his lifetime. He could not wait to someday fly back to the country where everything awaited him, familiar and understandable.

Calling Bai Luo Yin or You Qi didn't help. On the contrary, it made him even more gloomy and miserable. It seemed that God planned life with sparkling diamonds, pink, and joy for his friends, whereas for him it was anointed with utter blackness.

What a stroke of rotten luck.

Why not show up early and help his best friend? He didn't have anything better to do anyways. Besides, at this point, does he even have any worth or purpose or right to show up at the party without helping out first? The way he saw it, the hired help had much more worth and purpose in life than he ever did.

He hastened his steps after Bai Luo Yin, from the kitchen to the living room, to the garden, and back. Setting the table, and organizing around while sending some orders the hired help way.

Only after the preparations ended, and the house wore the look of party-ready, he allowed himself to let out the question that consumed him from the inside for the past couple of weeks.

"Yin Za, I wanted to talk to you about something..."

Bai Luo Yin gave him a glance of a man in a hurry. "What about?"

"What do you think about me working beside you as your executive assistant?"

Bai Luo Yin's movements came to an abrupt halt. "Executive assistant?"

"Yeah, aren't you looking for one? I know I have no experience or references, but I know I can excel at this job if you will just give me a chance..."

"But you live in San Antonio, and my workday starts at 07:00. I don't think it's very practical."

"I will move here."

"What?"

"I will move here, I will move to Houston. I will find a house in your neighborhood. I already talked with Liu, and he agreed. It's much more sensible for us to live here. Liu is living in the base's dorm anyway. When he will get his days of leave, he can just drive here. There is no reason for me to be stuck there alone all by myself with no one to talk to. If I will move here, I will be able to work with you and hang out with your friends. I trust your selection of friends, I don't trust Gu Yang's though."
