"Yin Za, you look in an exceptionally good mood today. Did anything special happen?"

"Just loving my married life."

Yang Meng smiled to himself as he watched Bai Luo Yin's brightly grinning silhouette disappear back into his office. This had to be the first time he heard Bai Luo Yin utter such type of honest—privacy and emotions exposing—sentence. Who knows? It might be the last time as well. Usually, the privacy-cherishing CEO expressionlessly responded with: 'Nothing special happened,' or a simple, 'Nope.'

Now he just flat out put his emotions out there.

So out of his character.

After Bai Luo Yin retired from the military and began working as a CEO, Yang Meng witnessed a switch flipped and activated in Bai Luo Yin's demeanor. One that had been forced to smother itself off for way too long.

Suddenly, a grin adorned his lips on a morning basis. Every word he uttered, every action he executed, dispersed around them the vibe of a blooming cherry during the midst of April.

Furthermore, when the chairman dropped by the CEO's office to hand him his daily meals, ask how his day was going, or merely scold him to return home with him already; the man seemed like he magically floated in the sky, joined hands with the clouds and danced the dance of his lifetime.

It became clearer to all by the day, Gu Hai knew exactly what he was doing when he egged Bai Luo Yin to leave the service and crowned him as the CEO of his company.

Yang Meng hated to admit it to himself. He wished to be the best friend that knew his friend more than anybody else in the world. Including, more than their own partner. But with Gu Hai, this option never existed. Each action he took, and each word he articulated only amplified the same conclusion.

The depth in which he knew Bai Luo Yin exceeded the depth of Bai Luo Yin himself. Credit where credit was due. Yang Meng internally pouted and wordlessly admitted defeat to Gu Hai.

When it came to the topic of happiness and marriage; Yang Meng turned a deaf ear to the vast opinions of the world. Whenever he turned on the TV, watched a movie, or logged into his social media account, most people echoed the same message like a tasteless donut.

Women, men, gay, straight, or bi, it didn't matter. People declared marriage as a prison that was set to trap them in, lock them for life, and keep them miserable until the day they die. Thus, a significant percentage of youth renounced the idea of marriage before they even gave it a fair, and honest try.

What a total amount of bullshit!

In his eyes, marriage: If you and your partner are both decent people, and are doing it right, marriage would be the blessing one craved for since their teenage years. The happiest, most fulfilling years of one's life.

Bai Luo Yin served as a brilliantly shining first example of it. And he came at a close second.

Just the other day, Liu surprised him at work with a visit from the base. Hands brimming with gifts, balloons, and congratulations banners on his successful first week at the job.

Moreover, Liu always called him daily, a few times a day even. Doesn't matter how exhausted the daily training rendered him, or how many numbing missions brigadier general Yun cast on him that day. He always found the time to call him, to make sure he was okay, that he was eating well and sleeping enough, and urged him to come to visit him at the base when he felt too lonely.

Involving oneself with a man who chose to dedicate his life to serving in the army flashed its challenges pretty quickly. On every couple, it flashed a different effect.
