June 2th-Friday.

One week later.

San Antonio's military base.

"Listen up soldiers. The problem we are facing at this moment is a serious one and is our top priority. You three were the first ones to ask to be stationed here and came the closest to meeting our base's standards."

At the peeping tiny smiles of the three majors sitting tensely on his office's sofa, brigadier general Yun coldly added. "Don't get too puffed up. Straighten your back. Sit upright! You still have a long way to go."

"Two years ago," Ling Yun's voice continued to thunder around the room. "Our top-ranking officials in Beijing decided to purchase this piece of land. They made a deal with the land's owner. Two years of rent, and then a full purchase. That way he had enough time to find a new place for himself, his family, his horses, and his herd of sheep. They did so in order to afford him to take his time when looking for a new house with no stress knowing he still owns the land. That was the only way we managed to persuade him to sell it to us."

"Six months ago when we established the base, he found out the purpose for which we bought the land from him. Since he is against foreign military bases in his country, he is now backpedaling on his decision. He threatened to evict us from here once the last month of rent will end next month, if we won't evacuate the place voluntarily."

"Luckily, we have a signed contract to fight him with. After extensive research, we hired a team of lawyers from the three top law firms in the state. Each one of you will work beside one firm. You will make sure to hand them any necessary information that they request, and will keep them away from our base and troops' confidential information. Your mission is to help our lawyers win this case as easy and fast as possible."

"Besides of the morning formations and daily training, I don't want to see your faces until this matter is resolved. If you will fail in this mission, your asses will be shipped to our effective military prison in the capital faster than it was shipped here."

Two of the majors lowered their heads to look at the floor in submission. "Yes, commander."

Liu however, fearlessly faced Ling Yun. "Commander, we are not lawyers. We were never trained to fulfill this type of task. If the lawyers will fail at their job, why should we fall on our swords and pay for their failure?"

This constant back and forth between major Chong and brigadier general Yun gained much attraction during the last five months. All new recruits that landed at the base, would be forced to sit for forty-eight hours and memorize the base's regulations. Along that, bundles of rumors, and helpful gossip traveled into their ears; supplying them with life-saving information that will aid them to survive brigadier general Yun's strict and merciless manner of discipline.

Who to turn to for confiscated goods, who to look for when they are desperate for more days of leave, and who will agree out of the goodness of his heart to massage their back and feet to reduce their body's soreness from training.

Last but not least, who was the only one at the base that dared to face their redoubtable commander and express his objections when necessary. In that case, the recruits were instructed, only one such man existed at the base. Major Liu Chong.

After Colonel Bai's departure, a lingering worry poked Ling Yun's mind relentlessly. Now that the apple of his eye, his best recruit left, won't it get increasingly boring working with a bunch of trembling cowards that practically peed themselves upon hearing his roar?

He used to despise the rebels, the ones that dared to step out of the line and voice out their opinions. It seemed that the combination of Gu Yang and Bai Luo Yin's constant existence in his life distorted his character to something new he never thought he would quest for.
