"So you expect to raise a baby with me and text dirty messages to every other girl at this school if I don't give it up to you every day?"
"No. Just the hot girls. Look, I'm gonna be a good dad, but I'm not gonna stop being me to do it."
-
Quinn sighed as she picked Beth up from her bassinet to comfort her. "Mommy's here. Shhhh."
Beth continued screaming, and Quinn did her best to comfort her while silently cursing Puck out.
Quinn put Beth on her hip and went downstairs to make her a bottle. She was in the kitchen when she heard someone knock on the front door.
Hoping it was Puck, Quinn hurried to the door and opened it. She furrowed her eyebrow at the sight of Finn in front of her. "Oh. Hey, Finn."
"Hey." Finn said, smiling at Quinn and Beth. "Can I come in? I wanna talk to you."
"Now's not a really good time. I'm trying to calm Beth down and Puck's late again and-"
"Let me help." Finn insisted, entering the Fabray house.
Quinn shut the door behind Finn and followed him to the kitchen.
"I can take her if you wanna finish making her bottle." Finn offered.
"Sure, thanks." Quinn nodded, handing Beth off to her godfather.
The blonde baby girl started to calm down in Finn's arms.
"Thanks." Quinn repeated, taking Beth and giving her the bottle when it was ready.
"Sure." Finn said.
"So you said you wanted to talk?" Quinn asked, sitting down at the kitchen table.
"Yeah, about Puck, actually." Finn noted.
"I don't wanna talk about Puck." Quinn told Finn.
"Even if it's something to do with him screwing other girls?" Finn wondered.
"I appreciate you coming over here, but I don't even wanna know anymore, Finn." Quinn responded.
Finn sat down and looked at the blondes. "I know, but-"
"No." Quinn interrupted. "Puck told me he wasn't gonna stop being him when Beth came along. It's my fault for believing he was capable of change."
"No, it isn't." Finn argued. "Look, what you did to me last year was really bad, Quinn, but you don't deserve what Puck does to you."
Quinn looked at Finn.
Finn opened his mouth to continue, but paused.
"Someone's at the front door." Quinn noted when she heard a knock. "It might be Puck."
"You should talk to him." Finn advised Quinn.
"Yeah." Quinn agreed, placing Beth in Finn's arms before walking to the living room. She opened the door and looked at Puck. "What are you doing here?"
"It's Tuesday, isn't it?" Puck asked. "I told you I'd be here tonight."
Quinn nodded. "Yeah, hours ago. Beth's asleep so you should go."
Puck raised his eyebrow as he heard Beth whine. "I thought you said she's asleep. What's going on?"
"Nothing." Quinn said. "Nothing at all."
"Hey, Puck."
Quinn glared at Finn as he entered the room with Beth.
"Hey." Puck replied.
"Finn, can you excuse us?" Quinn requested.
"Uh... sure, but what do you want me to do with Beth?" Finn questioned Quinn.
"You can bring her up to my room." Quinn answered. "I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Okay." Finn nodded as he left the room again.
"What's going on?" Puck wondered.
"What's going on is you told me you wanted to be with me when I was pregnant, and then you told me you loved me, and now I have to beg you to come over to help me with the baby." Quinn said.
"I told you I wasn't gonna stop being me." Puck reminded Quinn.
"This isn't about us. I don't care if you're dating or screwing someone else." Quinn clarified. "But you need to help with Beth."
"I do help with Beth." Puck responded.
"You can't show up here hours late or not at all." Quinn told Puck. "You can't do the bare minimum and think that makes you a good father."
"So now I'm not a good father?" Puck questioned Quinn.
"I never said that. I said-"
"You just said-"
"You're a good father." Quinn interrupted. "And I know you love her, but you need to do your best for her."
Puck looked at Quinn.
"I don't want Finn coming over here to warn me about you being out with other girls or anything like that." Quinn continued. "Okay?"
"And this has nothing to do with us not being together?" Puck asked.
"Of course not." Quinn shook her head. "This has nothing to do with us."
"Really?" Puck wondered. "Because I think you're jealous."
"Jealous?" Quinn repeated. "I got more from you than anybody else has. And it was more than enough. Why would I be jealous of them?"
"I told you I wanted to be with you, but I wouldn't stop being me." Puck reminded Quinn. "You knew that."
"And I told you if you wanted to be with me, you had to prove it to me." Quinn said softly. "Which you didn't."
"I did." Puck insisted. "And I know you're afraid, but-"
"I'm not afraid." Quinn cut Puck off.
Puck looked at Quinn. "Then go out with me."
"I'm not gonna let you cheat on me or disappear when I need you." Quinn shook her head. "You said it yourself, I know who you are."
"Is that what you really think, or is that just what you tell yourself so everything is easier?" Puck asked, stepping closer to Quinn.
"Just stop." Quinn whispered.
"Tell me you don't want me." Puck said.
"I... I don't want you." Quinn stuttered.
"You're lying." Puck shook his head.
"I'm not." Quinn responded.
"Yes you are." Puck noted.
"Noah, I-"
Puck cut Quinn off by cupping her cheeks and kissing her.
Quinn wrapped her arms around Puck's neck, letting herself melt into the kiss.
