"Hey, baby." Puck smiled when Quinn opened the front door.
"Hey." Quinn said. "Come in."
"Thanks." Puck replied, stepping inside.
Quinn closed the door behind Puck and looked at him.
"Quinny! Dinner's ready!"
"Is that your mom?" Puck asked.
Quinn nodded.
"Maybe I should take off." Puck suggested.
"No." Quinn replied. "No, I want you to join us."
"You want me to have dinner with you and your mom?" Puck questioned Quinn.
"And my dad." Quinn said.
"Why?" Puck wondered.
"Quinny, I said dinner's ready." Judy noted as she entered the room. She paused when she saw Puck.
Quinn looked at her mom.
"Is your friend joining us?" Judy wondered.
"Yes." Quinn answered immediately. "I... I mean, sure. We'll be right there."
"Okay, but don't keep your father waiting." Judy added, looking Puck up and down in disgust before walking away.
"I'm gonna split." Puck stated.
"No." Quinn shook her head. "Please."
Puck sighed. "Fine."
-
"I hope you made something good tonight, sweetheart." Russell said as he entered the dining room. He paused when he saw Puck seated beside Quinn. "Quinny, who's your friend?"
"This is Noah." Quinn introduced him.
"Nice to meet you." Puck said, giving Quinn a look.
"And how do you know Noah?" Russell asked, eyeing Puck's mohawk.
"We go to school together." Quinn answered. "He's-"
"Noah, are you in the celibacy club with Quinny?" Russell interrupted.
"Why don't we start eating?" Judy suggested, making Russell a plate.
-
The first few minutes of dinner were silent. It felt like time was dragging.
"Noah is on the football team." Quinn broke the silence. "And the basketball and baseball teams. We're in glee club together."
"What about the celibacy club?" Russell asked again.
"Daddy." Quinn said, taking a deep breath as she glanced at Judy. "I'm so sorry."
Russell furrowed his eyebrow.
"I'm pregnant." Quinn announced.
Russell looked at Judy and then at Puck. "Are you going to marry my daughter?"
"We're not getting married." Quinn stated.
"Why not?" Russell demanded.
"Because we're sixteen." Quinn responded, wiping tears from her eyes. "And we're not in love."
"Well, you should've thought about that before." Russell hissed. "When you get pregnant, you get married."
"I made a mistake. I..." Quinn trailed off. "I'm sorry."
"Both of you need to leave my house." Russell commanded. "Now."
"Please don't do this." Quinn cried as she turned to Judy. "Mom, don't let him do this to me."
"Judy." Russell warned her, his eyes on Quinn. "You have thirty minutes to pack your bags."
"Fine." Quinn said, getting up. "Then you don't get to know your granddaughter."
"It's a girl?" Judy asked with a small smile.
"Judy." Russell scolded.
"Russell, let's just-"
"Judy." Russell cut his wife off as he looked at Puck. "And you. What do you have to say for yourself? For defiling my daughter?"
"It was a mistake." Puck answered as he stood up. "But I know that I'm gonna be a better father than you."
Russell scoffed.
"Seriously." Puck swore. "My daughter isn't even here yet, but I would never abandon her or kick her out of her home. No matter what."
"Twenty-five minutes." Russell responded, clenching his jaw. He looked Quinn up and down one last time before leaving the room.
"Mom." Quinn choked out as her mother hesitantly followed her father.
Puck reflexively pulled Quinn into his arms to comfort her.
"It's gonna be okay, Q."
