Motionless in White One-Shots

Carving Pumpkins *Vinny Mauro* Fall 2022

"Mines going to be the best pumpkin you've ever seen." Vinny commented as we cleared off the table and layed down trash bags so we didn't make too much of a mess.

"Yeah. Okay~." I rolled my eyes at him as I put the carving tools and knives on the table. Vinny carried our pumpkins to the table and we both got to work, drawing our designs on with markers first.

We didn't buy the pre made designs that you trace on, we decided we both had to free hand our pumpkins for it to be fair.

We had each picked out our own pumpkins too at the patch. That had been a whole adventure in itself.

That day started off with Vinny making us breakfast before we got into our jeans and hoodies and drove nearly an hour to a farm that had all kinds of things including the pumpkins of course.

We took a hayride pulled by a tractor out into the middle of their patch, spent a good half an hour to hour finding the perfect pumpkins and then took them back to the barn to purchase, along with some fresh apples that we had dipped in caramel when we got home.

That was three days ago and now it was finally time to carve the pumpkins.

We had Halloween music playing in the house as we worked on our masterpieces.

The drawing part was a piece of cake.. However the carving part was a different story and I didnt have very good luck with it.

Needless to say Vinny ended up winning even though he assured me that mine was a very close second.

"It's.. Beautiful, babe." He laughed.

"Yeah, yeah... It sucks, I know."

After we sat our pumpkins out on the porch we cuddled up on the couch to a couple Halloween movies and ended our night that way.
