"I just - I miss him." The girl cried, holding her phone as she sat on her bed.
"No. You don't miss him. You just miss some of the things he provided you with. Give me your phone." Vinny was strict with the girl as he held his hand out. I guess this is what happens when a single Dom gets too close to his female best friend. He wanted nothing more than to protect her and own her. But he had also caught feelings for her somewhere along the lines, and so I'm sure that played a part too. He wasn't going to just yank the phone out of her hands but when she hesitated to give it over he knelt down before her and grasped it in his own hands, gently attempting to take it as he spoke encouraging words to her.
"I promise you baby, it's not him that you miss. You left him for a damn good reason, and I speak for all of us around you when I say I'm not letting you go back. I'm not going to sit her and watch you destroy the life that you've rebuilt. We're not giving him a single chance to hurt you again." His words were strict, but his voice was soft. She let go of her phone, and Vinny slid it into his back pocket before wiping away the girls tears and moving to sit beside her. He pulled her into his side and held her tightly. He knew that the girl didn't miss her ex. She just missed the things that came with being in a relationship. The loving, the kisses, and being held. Giving all of your love to someone and sharing everything with them. Having someone to laugh with or cry to if you needed. She didn't miss him.
What she missed was things that any decent man could give her, and he wasn't letting her run back and ruin everything in sake of them. Not when he was here and perfectly capable of showing this girl love and care. He pulled back a little and wiped her tears away, kissing her forehead.
"You're going to be okay, baby." He held her tightly until she had calmed down, which took a considerably long time.
"Why don't we go out and get your mind off of everything? We can grab some dinner and do whatever you want." He suggested, moving her hair out of her face as they now layed next to each other. She shook her head slightly, burying her face in the crook of his arm that she had been resting on. "It'll be good for you. C'mon." His tone was a bit stricter now. He knew she needed a distraction. He sat up, ignoring her noises of protest as he stood, offering her a hand.
"Dinner's on me, and we can go for a drive." He was firm as he helped her up.
"But I look like this." She sighed. The gray trails of mascara down her face were the only flaw. The girl was absolutely stunning, and anyone with eyes could see that. He gently cradled her face in one hand as he used his hoodie sleeve to wipe her face with the other.
"You're beautiful, baby girl." He whispered before kissing her cheek. Her eyes were still glossy, and her cheeks were flushed, but that would quickly go away as long as he could keep her from crying anymore. which he planned to. He left her no room to argue as he put his jacket on and helped her with hers, taking her out to his SUV.
"What do you want for dinner?" He asked her as he started the car. She shook her head, but he wasn't taking that as an answer. She was going to eat, even if it was only a little bit. Vinny listed off restraunts until she agreed to one, Chic Fil A. Which was coincidently one of his favorites, so he wasn't sure if she was agreeing to it for his sake or her own. Either way, they headed off and got food, Vinny paying and helping her to her seat.
"Do you have any idea how amazing you are?" He smiled at her as he sat across from her at the table. She put her head down, staring at her lap. Had she really been done so wrong in the past that she couldn't take a compliment? "Look at me." He spoke sternly. She put her head up but refused to look him in the eye, her cheeks suddenly flushed. "Sahara." He quietly growled, making her eyes snap to his. "You're beautiful. You're perfect and amazing." He assured her, resting his hand on the side of her face before they were interrupted by a worker bringing them their food.
After eating, they went on a drive until the sun had set, parking the car at a nearby park and having one of those deep conversations where you just spill everything. Vinny brought her a comfort no one else ever had, and she felt safe letting down her walls.
Vinny knew there was a lot of work to be put in to go from friends to something more, but he vowed that night to put the effort in. After all, she was worth it. This was his girl.
They shared a kiss in the car that night before going back to her place where he stayed over with her. She was going to be his, and he wasn't going to stop until she was.🤦♀️ You guys, I'm not going to lie. I missed the mark on this one, at least by my own standards. This one was my first attempt at the Dom Vinny request (first, meaning there's more coming and I promise they get better.) I still wanted to share this one though as there's parts of it that I did like.
I started a makeup/beauty page at the beginning of this year and have been working so hard to grow that page that a bunch of my other creative platforms have not been getting as much attention. My writing included.
In good news, your girl scored a small partnership and affiliate program with an alternative/ goth makeup brand 😊
Anyways, better updates to come. 🖤
