Her body shook as she stood alone in their bedroom. She wished the feeling would go away but the jittery feeling in her chest and stomach had been there since she had woken up. She hated it.
"Are you ready, my love?" Her partner asked as he popped his head into the room, his face immediately showing concern when he noticed the state she was in. "Baby, what's wrong?" He was gentle as he sat down on their bed and pulled her onto his lap. His hand rubbed her back as the other went around her body. She shook her head as the dam broke and the tears came.
She hated her anxiety and she wished so bad that it would just go away. Her body shook even harder as she layed her head on his shoulder.
"Hey~" He soothed. "Its okay. You're okay." He softly rocked them back and forth, hoping to help calm her nerves. "Is it the anxiety?" She nodded her head as she sniffled.
"I woke up with it bad today."
"My love." He sighed. "Why didn't you tell me? I want to know these things. I can't help you untill you tell me." He squeezed her tight and kissed her forehead. "What's three things you hear?" He started with the basics in attempt to help her ground herself.
"The A/C.. your heart and my breathing." His heartbeat was admittedly very soothing.
"Two things you feel?" He knew he was getting the steps out of order but it didn't matter. It was the fact that her focus was being put on something else that was important.
"Your touch and..." She had to really focus on the other answer but it wasn't a bad thing. "The air from the A/C."
"Can you move something for me?" He asked as he placed another kiss to her forehead. She rolled her ankles and Chris stood with her, standing with a few feet of space in between them.
"Shake it off." He gently instructed as he too began shaking his arms and legs, singing 'Shake It Off' by Taylor Swift as his girl followed his lead.
"One more thing." He smiled at her after they had finished. He took her back into his arms as he looked down at her. "Deep breaths." He guided her through a few good ones before having her breathe in untill it hurt on the last one. After exhaling her shoulders relaxed and she pressed her body against his.
He knew it wasn't a magic cure but he just hopped to help her feel better. He felt the tears wet against his neck as she pressed her face into him.
"Let it out baby. I've got you." In a swift movement he had picked her up to hold her body against his. He hated seeing his girl cry but she had to get it all out.
"Its going to pass, my love. Just cry it all out, get those feelings out." He never wanted her to stiffel her emotions as it never helped anyone. "I'm right here." He reminded her as he sat down on their bed, cradling her in his lap.
He was here for the good and the bad. She would never be alone as long as his heart was still beating and it was important to him for her to know what he was there every step of the way.
He canceled their plans to hold her in bed for what felt like hours, before turning on some lame comedy movies and later ordering them take out.
She needed to feel her feelings and he wasn't leaving her side.
