"Get out." The man snapped the second the door had opened. He hadn't even turned his attention away from the computer as he sat at his desk. When the door didn't close he loudly sighed. "I said-" he had started loudly but cut himself off when his eyes left his work and took in the person who had walked in the door. "Oh its you." His sigh sounded stressed as she closed the door behind herself, walking into his office and straight up to his desk. "So.. This is their last resort huh? They sent you to con me into it?"

"Ry, come on. Stop it." She rolled her eyes at him, a smile on her face to show that she wasnt offput by his sour atittide. She understood where he was coming from.

"Well, did they or did they not?"

"I mean they want me to talk you into it but thats not my main objective here." He let out a chuckle.

"Its still a no."

"And that's fine, Ry. If that's your choice I respect it." She walked around the desk to step behind him, softly putting her hands on his shoulders to rub the tension away and soothe him.

"You respect it... But you don't agree with it. Do you?"

"Doesn't matter. Its your decision."

"You have to know why I'm doing this. Its not just to be a jerk."

"I know, Ryan. I know." And she did. She knew the man infront of her like she knew the back of her hand. She knew him better than anyone else on this earth did. He reached up and gently took her hand off of his shoulder, holding it as he pulled her around to the front of him and scooted his office chair back. As she sat on the edge of the desk infront of him he took her other hand as well.

"Kitten, I know that the smarter decision is to say yes but.. I can't do that to this company. I can't do it to us." She hated that he looked so stressed and upset, it broke her heart.

"I understand... You dont have to explain anything to me. Again, I respect your decision." He hated that he was gonna have to send her back out to them with another negative answer. But he'd told them multiple times and using his own girlfriend against him wasn't going to work.

"I do think it's bullshit though that they sent you to do this." He grumbled.

"You think they know?" She asked. Most of the company knew they were a thing. But she didnt think that the investors did.

"Oh they definitely know alright." He shook his head to himself, taking a deep breath. God was he ready for this day to be over.

"Ry.." She spoke softly, freeing one of her hands from his grasp so that she could place it gently on the side of his face, stroking his cheekbone with her thumb. "I'll just tell them no and this'll all be over. Don't stress baby."

"Its hard not to. I mean either way I'm losing in this. I'm getting screwed."

"Okay, well..." She trailed off as she got up and grabbed a blank sheet of paper from the printer and a pen from the holder on his desk before taking her spot back.

She drew a line down the center of the paper, writing 'cons' on one side and 'pros' on the other. "If you were to say yes, what's that gonna do for the company?" She already knew but wanted to jot down his points and not her own. It wasnt her decision to make after all.

"I mean.. It'll do alot. Mad, why-" he sighed but she cut him off.

"Humor me here Ryan."

"Youre not taking my decision for what it is."

"Because you're not even sure in your decision. If its a no, its a no. Not a big deal but the fact that youre still stressing..."

"Fine. Uh, it'll bring us new clientele, obviously expanding the buisness which means more money. And more money means stuff like raises and renovations. More bonuses maybe. "

"Okay. As for cons..?"

"The fact that they think they have some control here. Theyre gonna think that their say so matters when this is my fucking company. These are my employees, youre not going anywhere and I'll be damned if they think that their money is enough to change that. They can suck my c-"

"Ryan. Ry, baby.... We get it." She cut him off, putting a hand on his chest that he then took ahold of.

"I worked my ass off for this and to have you by my side. They can't just take that away from me... But we also can't keep going like this."

"Then it comes down to a simple decision. Money or loyalty Ryan?"

"You know I'll always choose you. That's why my first answer has been no this whole time. Madelyn, I need you by my side."

"Then I'll tell them that I really debated with you and tried my hardest but respectfully its still a no." She shrugged her shoulders, a small smile on her lips. She was proud of the man infront of her. And she was proud to call him hers. He grabbed her waist and pulled her onto his lap, attacking her lips with his own.

"I love you." He mumbled breathlessly against her soft lips.

"I love you too." His hand found its way to her hair, tangling in it as his tongue fought hers for dominance. They both knew who always won but she still liked to toy with him.

Moments later a knock was heard at the door which caused her to jump a bit. Ryan tightened his hold on her, rubbing his hand down her back in a soothing manner but the two never parted, figuring the person would go away when they didnt hear an answer.

But seconds later they heard the door open followed by a gasp, an apology and the door slamming.

They broke apart laughing as her face turned red.

"And thats why we lock the door next time." Ryan joked. Madelyn ran her hands through her hair, taming it before fixing her clothes.

"And where do you think youre going?" Ryan asked as she had started to get up, but his hands grabbed her waist.

"I have a phone call to make, Ry. I believe someone turned down an offer, yeah?"

"Or better yet, you can tell they have a deal if and only if they don't change anything for the people employed by me. Including you. No ones going anywhere."

"Got it."

"Madelyn?"

"Yes?"

"You're mine, Kitten." She smiled before agreeing. Giving Ryan a kiss before heading out of his office to go call the potential investors.
