some terms that will be used further:

Alpha: the wolf who leads the pack during hunts and when dealing with threats to survival

Beta: second-in-command

Zeta: intelligent beta werewolves who specialize in both Strategy and Pack Coordination

Gamma: strongest wolves of the pack also called the generals

Nova: usually called medics throughout the book

The next morning you dressed up for the academy and went down to see Yoonmin eating breakfast. Your mother had already gone to work. She worked at the hospital as a doctor so she had to leave early in the morning and sometimes had to rush to the hospital in the middle of the night. She used to work in the defense force before as a medic when she was young. But after having you and adopting Yoonmin she decided to give more time to you guys. Though it wasn't much it was still more than what she would get in the defense force.

Currently you and Yoonmin were undergoing training in the defense academy to get into the defense force. The Defense Force specialized in field missions and other things that ensured protection and security of the pack. It was made 18 years ago by the alpha of the pack after gruesome pack wars took place taking many lives. It would be a dream for many teens to get in the academy. Admissions took place by clearing the entrance exams. You however, decided to go for it because you weren't interested in anything else.

Though all of the trainees at the academy were trained in all aspects, there were specific departments everyone majored in. Yoonmin was a tech major like he always wanted. There were other departments like the medical department where the defense force medics trained for specializing in medical treatment, the combat and weapons department called CWD for the wolves working in the front lines at any time of attack and the forensic department, etc.

You majored in the CWD. You hated studying which is why you did not get enough grades to get in the medic department after the evaluation exams that take place at the end of the general course in the first year. In the first year all wolves were taught the basics of all the majors and at the end of the year they evaluated the students according to their scores. Those scores which were more based on the wolves natural instincts, determined what department they would be suitable for. You ended up being in the CWD department as you aced the physical exams but you had to study other subjects too. CWD was also one of the hardest major since they were sent on missions and being out there meant having to learn almost everything you could to survive and fight.

It was almost like a college the humans went to. The only difference was that the wolves would get in after clearing the entrance exam at 16 and be evaluated and placed in the departments a year later at the age of 17.

It was a seven-year long course for sure but it was made to train the students to become the best. Your pack was called 'Wolfgang' which was a very simple name which would make sense to anyone who heard it. After the pack wars 18 years ago, the alpha made sure to strengthen the pack and keep the people safe which led it to be the best and strongest pack out there.

The pack was like a town filled with wolves and no one else. It was situated between the mountains on one side and a huge forest on the other side, away from the human population. So, if anyone wanted to get to the pack, they would have to cross the mountains which was extremely difficult. And if someone tried to get to the pack from the other side, they would have to face the forest where they would be likely killed by any of the wolves of the Wolfgang or by the wolves of the Wonderland, a neighboring pack with which the Wolfgang had strong ties with, patrolling occasionally on the outskirts. And even if anyone did manage to get through, they would most likely be killed or held captive by the defense force. The reason it was called defense force was because it was made to keep the pack safe and not to attack anyone.

You grabbed a guava (no apple cuz yer mum a docter lmaoo) and sat opposite to Yoonmin.

Yoonmin: There's cake in the fridge, pop tarts in the cupboards and cereal too. Coffee?

Juno: Not in the mood.

Yoonmin: You cried again.

He said in a matter-of-fact tone and you realized your eyes might still be a bit puffy.

Juno: It's a tradition.

Yoonmin: I wish it wasn't. Let's go find your mate to cheer you up!

You scowled.

Juno: You could've said, "Let's go skip classes to cheer you up!"

Yoonmin: Do you want to graduate? If yes then get your ass going, we're getting late!

As much as you hated classes you didn't want to spend more than the remaining four years there. You grabbed your bag and followed him out the door. You reached the academy and went separate ways as you grabbed the essentials for the first class. You heard a few high-pitched squeals and realized that you almost forgot how the academy was similar to a normal human college shown in the movies with girls fangirling over the hot boys.

In your packs case it was the alpha's son, the future alpha, Bang Christopher Chan, 22. You wouldn't deny that he deserved his title since he had great leadership skills, was very caring, kind, considerate and was good at almost everything. With him was the committee which consisted of his two betas Lee Felix and Kim Seungmin who were both 19, the gammas Seo Changbin age 20 and Minho age 21, the zeta Hwang Hyunjin age 19 and finally the much needed, ace medics Han Jisung age 19 and Yang Jeongin age 18 all of which were equally skilled in other fields too, making them the perfect people to be in the council. You and Jeongin had some classes together but never talked. I mean it's not necessary to talk to everyone you have classes with, right? You minded your business and closed your locker when your eyes accidentally met Chan. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal for you to accidentally look at someone since you would proceed to ignore them anyway. But what surprised you today was the sudden giddiness you felt and the realization creeped onto you. mate.
