Ch-14 : Back home

Chan couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. You were his mate yet he hadn't touched you yet. He always saw you as someone who wore this cold expression so when he saw you smiling like that at Yunho so gently, he couldn't help but feel like he was supposed to be the one to see that smile and be the reason behind it.

You and Yunho turned towards the door to see Hongjoong standing at the doorway with Chan, Yoonmin and Seungmin. You gulped in fear. You were never scared of anyone but right now you knew that you had messed up big time. Yoonmin came forward and looked at you with a judgy stare as he put his hands on his hips. You lowered your head.

Juno: I'm sorry.

He shook his head and came to you engulfing you in a hug.

Yoonmin: I was scared to death, dumbo! Let's go home now!

You nodded your head and stood up but a stinging pain shot throughout your legs making you lose your balance. Almost everyone's instinct was to help you but Yunho was the first one to catch you.

Yunho: What's wrong?

Juno: My legs hurt badly.

Yunho: Of course, they will. You kept running for hours without a break. Sit down.

You sat back on the bed as he observed your swollen feet. You hissed in pain as his fingers brushed your swollen ankle even though his touch was very gentle.

Yunho: Just take rest and I mean complete rest. No walking at all, that way you will recover faster. If it hurts too much just apply some pain numbing cream.

You nodded obediently. But his next move was something that no one expected. He carried you again just like he did back in the forest.

Yunho: Let's go.

Again, Chan couldn't help but feel a bit jealous seeing you all vulnerable in front of Yunho which he never saw before. You never let people come close to you and here you had your hands on Yunho's shoulders holding on to him. He came forward and stopped Yunho.

Chan: I'll take her from here. Thanks a lot for taking care of her, Yunho.

Yunho: I'm glad to help.

He was about to hand you to Chan but you clutched his shirt tightly not wanting to let go since you knew how much Chan disliked you. Realizing that something was wrong he whispered to you.

Yunho: Is everything okay?

Juno: I'm not ready to face him yet.

Yunho: It's okay, Chan. I'll drop her to the car.

Chan got angry now that you trusted someone you just met over your mate. The way your faces went near each other when you whispered to Yunho made him mad at the lack of distance between you and Yunho. He never saw you this vulnerable and weak before which made his mate instincts go crazy and he just wanted to take you in his arms and protect you amd take care of you but you were uncomfortable with him which bothered him but he tried not to show it.

Yunho took you to the car as you hid your face in his chest because you didn't want the other pack members to see you. He placed you in the car which Felix drove. Yoonmin moved to the car that Minho drove and Chan was about to get in beside you but you stopped him.

Juno: Can Yoonmin sit with me, please?

Your timid tone made his alpha wolf go crazy but he realized that he needed to give you some time to recover from all the events that took place. He switched places with Yoonmin and went in the car with Minho instead of sitting at the back in the same car to give you space. You turned to Yunho who was standing outside and waved at him.

Juno: Thank you for taking care of me and trying to help me. Let's meet again when I'm not a mess like I am right now.

Yunho: Sure, let's meet again soon.

He patted your head again and Felix drove off after saying goodbye to the Wonderland team. Everyone was quiet and no one dared to talk.

Yoonmin: Do your legs hurt really bad?

Juno: It's okay, I'm fine.

Yoonmin: You always say that even when you're not.

Juno: Maybe they hurt a little bit...

Yoonmin: Idiot! Let's get home and then get you some medicine.

Jeongin: I do have painkillers right now but taking them won't be advisable. Can you bear it till we get home?

Juno: Yeah

Suddenly Felix spoke in his deep voice startling you.

Felix: Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again.

You saw him glaring at you through the rear mirror.

Juno: Honestly, I don't know why you care. You don't even know me.

You mumbled but he heard you.

Felix: I'm the beta and all pack members are important to me but you- you're the freaking luna-

Changbin: Felix!

Felix: So kindly spare us the trouble of worrying about you again. Who knows what could've happened to you if the Wonderland pack didn't get to you first? You might not care about others but unlike you, others do care about you. So, don't be selfish for once and think about the people around you too-

Changbin: Felix, enough!

No matter how hard you tried tears still made their way out of your eyes. All your life you have been trying to do what's the best for others. Even though you might not be thinking right, you were still thinking about what would make the others happy when you decided to leave. All of it just to be called selfish. Yoonmin noticed your tears and tried to comfort you but you gently pushed him away. You tried your best to keep your voice from breaking.

Juno: Felix, can you stop the car?

Felix: What for?

Juno: I just need 5 minutes and I'll be back.

Felix: Planning to run away again?

You smiled to yourself.

Juno: I can't run in this condition so even if I try to escape you will easily find me.

He looked at you skeptically but stopped the car anyway and you got off trying your hardest to walk even though your feet hurt a lot. You barely managed to walk to a distance and hid behind a tree where they couldn't see you. You broke down and everything you had kept inside finally came pouring out. You curled into a ball on the ground. You just wanted to disappear. Your chest hurt due to all of it and you were ready to do anything just to make that ache in your chest go away but it didn't go away. You lost track of time as you let everything out and eventually you got so tired that your eyelids felt heavy and you lost consciousness again.

Chan was watching you from far. He wanted to come to you and comfort you but he didn't want to make you uncomfortable. He hated how helpless he felt. He was an alpha yet he could do nothing other than watch you from far. He noticed your sobs quieting down. He came to you and noticed you passed out on the ground so he picked you up and took you back.
