Ch-12 : Catch

They all got in their cars and got on the move. After crossing the gates Chan spoke to the others using his mind link.

Chan: Hyunjin! How long before we actually reach the buffer zone?

Hyunjin: An hour at this speed.

Jeongin: Do you think she will even reach the buffer zone? If it takes us one hour by car it would probably take her a bit more time since her wolf can't keep running continuously.

Chan: According to the footage she left the pack more than an hour ago so she would probably be there by the time reach there or even before us. But Wonderland team should already be on their way.

Felix: If we receive the signal from Wonderland that they have her then we can use the inter-pack shortcut to reach there.

Chan: But we don't know if they have her yet.

Yoonmin: Use this route instead. It will probably allow us to reach to the center of buffer zone where she is most likely to be headed since she will just be following the mountains. And if Wonderland gets her first then we can easily head to their pack by taking the left and swerving to the shortcut.

Chan looked over to Yoonmin's tablet where he showed him the route he was talking about.

Hyunjin: What route are you talking about? Wait, I've never seen this route before.

Yoonmin: No one has.

Hyunjin: Then how do you know about it?

Yoonmin: It was used by special forces during the war but was closed immediately after due to it being very convenient for others to reach both the packs and plan an ambush. My uncle was in the special forces team and you can say that he made this route. I know about it because I have access to all his data including the ones about the war.

Hyunjin: Why wasn't I able to find it?

Yoonmin: It's a really good foolproof system that he created to protect his data and I'm only able to access it through his notes. No one else knows how to hack it.

Hyunjin: Make me your disciple, master!

Chan: Felix, take the route Yoonmin shows you and Minho keep close and follow us.

You had been running for an hour now but you couldn't give up so soon or else all your efforts would go in vain. You slowed down your pace as you could see light coming from distance.

Juno: Buffer zone! I hope there's no one out there.

You cautiously approached the buffer zone and once you felt that it was safe to step outside in the light you made a run for the other side of the forest. However a few men in black jumped out of nowhere in front of you pointing their guns at you making you halt immediately. You froze as they circled around you and you were completely surrounded with no way to escape.

Juno: This is a complete ambush as if they were waiting for me here.

One of them spoke up in a cold tone.

???: Running away, are we?

Juno: Shit! How do they know? Well, makes sense. What else would a medium sized wolf be doing out here in the forest especially in the buffer zone? But the patrol ended last week then who are these people?

???: We don't mean to harm you. Just co-operate and come with us.

Well, you weren't going to just hop into any stranger's van because who knows what their intentions were. You growled at them.
