Ch-23: Brave

You laid on the bed with eyes wide open. The room, bed, clothes and everything else in Chan's room gave an odd sense of comfort which you never felt before but for some reason you couldn't sleep no matter how much you twisted and turned. Finally, after a few hours you gave up and decided to go out since you got bored. You decided to go in the living-room and watch TV to kill time and Chan could sleep in his bed. You arrived in the living-room just to see Chan passed out on the couch in an uncomfortable position under the dim light. You sighed. Wtf were you supposed to do now? You decided to shift him to his bedroom by yourself. You were nervous to be near him and especially touch him because for mates, touch was something sensitive. Nevertheless, you approached him and carefully draped his arm over shoulder and put your hand around his waist to support his body. You tried to make him stand up but maybe you weren't at your strongest right now because you fell back on the couch with him which woke him up. He opened his eyes confusedly and looked at you.

Juno: Umm...I'm sorry for accidentally waking you up...?

This wasn't good for either of you because you two were the closer than you had ever been.

Chan: What are you doing?

Juno: Taking you to your room since you were sleeping uncomfortably. Well, trying to take you...

Chan: I can't sleep on the same bed with you.

Annoyed, you removed your hand from his waist and moved away.

Juno: I'm staying here in the living-room so you can take your bed.

Chan: Are you onto something? Not running away in the middle of the night, are we?

Juno: I can't sleep and I figured I won't be able to anytime soon but you're really tired and sleepy so you can go to your room while I watch TV here. And no, I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here in the morning when you wake up. I promise.

Chan: You sure?

Juno: Yeah, now let me watch TV in peace.

Chan got up and went to his room as he immediately fell asleep as soon as his body fell on the soft mattress.

You turned the TV on but didn't find anything interesting to watch. Not being able to decide what to watch, you just put on baby tv which finally made you sleepy. Feeling your eyelids get heavy you turned the TV off. You pulled your hood on, hugged your knees fell asleep as the exhaustion once again took over you.

The next morning the council was observing an interesting artifact.

Seungmin: Does she always sleep like a wolf even in her human form?

Yoonmin: Yup, she always curls up into a ball.

Hyunjin: We need to get ready for the academy. Who is waking her up?

Jisung: Is that even safe? Just yesterday she said how much sleep was important to her.

Yoonmin: I ain't doing it. I'm not ready to die yet.

Minho: How does she usually wake up?

Yoonmin: Phone alarm, but I guess it's out of battery.

Just then Chan waltzed in the living-room and Felix rushed to him.

Felix: You're just at the right time. We have a new mission.

Chan: What is it?

He pulled Chan and brought him in front of the couch where you were sleeping and pointed at you.

Felix: Wake her up.

The other members scooted away keeping a safe distance from you.

Chan: Seriously? Can't one of you just do it?

Hyunjin: We hold our lives dear to us. If anyone is capable of taming that wolf right now, it is you, the brave one.

Chan turned to you.

Chan: Wake up!

You didn't budge.

Chan: Wake up! You need to get ready for classes.

Juno: Five minutes mom!

You groaned in your sleep.

Chan: I'm not your mom.

Juno: Yoonmin, I swear if you try to wake me up again, I will yeet you to another dimension.

Felix: Did she say yeet?

Hyunjin: There's another dimension?

Yoonmin: Wtf?

Seungmin: They're experts in their own fields but otherwise they're the dumbest people I've ever met.

Changbin: Guys, focus on the mission right now.

Chan: Juno, wake up!

Juno: I'm sick. Let me rest.

Chan: Jisung, check her.

Jisung: Are you sure that's safe?

Chan sighed and out his hand on your forehead to check your temperature but you took his hand and hugged it. Chan froze and the room went silent. This simple act of yours had a thousand butterflies fluttering in Chan's stomach.

Felix: We will fill in a leave for you two today. Let's go guys!
