Ch-1 : The start

Reader will be having a name that is "Juno"

Looking at your phone screen you stared blankly as the digits changed showing that it was 12 which meant it was your birthday. You turned 18. Not that it was something you were excited about, but you knew that some things were going to change now. A knock on the door made you open it only to see your mom and your bestfriend/cousin Yoonmin, standing there with a cake in their hands. You broke into a smile as you let them in and they started singing happy birthday.

Yoonmin, Mom: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNO!!!

You blew the candles and cut the cake. After a while your mom left because she had to wake up early for her job. You sat on your bed looking at the stars outside the window.

Yoonmin: You turned 18, man!

Juno: I'm aware of it.

Yoonmin: Things are going to change. You might find your mate soon.

Juno: I'm not looking forward to it.

Yoonmin: Let's just see who they are.

Juno: And then?

Yoonmin: Then you just go with the flow... Who do you want your mate to be?

Juno: Satorou Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Yoonmin: He's fictional. He doesn't exist.

Juno: That's the point.

Yoonmin: I- Okay, who do you think it will be?

Juno: I don't know but whoever it is they should probably embrace themselves for the worst.

Yoonmin: Oh please! Stop saying such stuff to yourself. Me and aunt love you. There are people who will love you, your mate will-

Juno: Is there a possibility that my mate might be at the academy?

Yoonmin: It may be someone outside the academy or maybe even from another pack. But it's also likely for you to find your mate at the academy.

Juno: Let's say I hate this day already.

Yoonmin: Well, don't stress about it. It's just your birthday today so you might not find your mate as soon as you turn 18 like me. And if you do, then I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Juno: You're pretty chill about it. I mean you haven't found your mate and you're already 22. Most people would be freaking out right now.

Yoonmin: Well, there's no point in stressing about it and there are many people who are older than me and haven't found their mate. I'll find them when it's time.

Juno: Hold up- Holy- you're 22!

Yoonmin: Realization dawned over Juno!

Juno: Which means it's your last year at the academy...

Yoonmin: I thought you already knew that.

Juno: I did but I never actually thought about it much. I still have 4 years left to graduate from the academy. That means four years without you...

Yoonmin: Yeah, life's happening now. But it'll be fine. You went to school without me.

Juno: And it was horrible. I don't know how I'll deal with it. Ever since I could understand things you were there with me. Plus, this time it will be different. Once you start working you'll get busy and-

Yoonmin: Are we going to talk about emotional stuff now? You are 18, you'll find a mate, graduate and see a lot of new things. You'll have more people in your life now except just me.

Juno: Is finding your mate the only thing people look forward to when they turn 18?

Yoonmin: Well for me, I was excited to drink. You can take liquor that is twice as stronger than what humans drink.

Juno: Does it taste that good? Or is the hype for nothing?

Yoonmin: Oh, it's bitter dude and your throat burns.

Juno: I'm not touching it.

Yoonmin: Oh, and you can go to parties now.

Juno: I'd rather take a night time stroll along the lake.

Yoonmin: That's peaceful and calming but sometimes a bit of adrenaline wouldn't hurt.

Juno: I can see the adrenaline already making you sleepy. Go to sleep.

Yoonmin: Yup, see you in the morning.

Juno: Can't I skip classes tomorrow? It's my birthday.

Yoonmin: Nope!

Juno: Fine! Good night!

Yoonmin left to his room and you tried to sleep while all sorts of thoughts kept bothering you. It was your birthday but you weren't happy. Most people are excited to find their mate after turning 18 but you dreaded it. Why? Well, let's just say what was supposed to be most influencing example of love in your life actually left you scarred. And every year on your birthday you were reminded of it more than you remembered it on other days. Even though you shouldn't be affected by it since it has been so long and you thought about it countless times but still a few tears escaped your eyes.

Juno: Fuck this shit!

You buried your head in your pillow and tried to sleep while tears kept staining your pillow.
