Ashe was upset at himself. He's still studying to become a knight, yet he cannot even release his own anger. Everyone said that Ashe never gets mad. But is it true?

Except one time... when the army of Niðavellir raided the Holy Masoleum. He believed they used Lord Lonato against Rhea and killed him because he was nothing but an obstacle.

The silver haired boy was supposed to be scouting in Gaspard to figure out why Lord Lonato rebelled and why Christophe had to die, however, he was abducted by the Western Church... used as a bargaining chip for Rhea. The one thing that surprises him the most... was the Western Church did not care about the one person who was part of their deception... Valeria.

Valeria, like Ashe, was a commoner, an orphan. Unlike Ashe, Valeria stayed at an orphanage and was never adopted by Lord Lonato and instead, The man had saved her from dying of an illness and took her in as a squire.

Valeria was easier to anger than he was. One time, a student had taunted Ashe for being too close to Beles at the training grounds.

"He's doing his duty as a friend and as a knight!" She said, trying not to fire an arrow from a Training Bow. "Now do not tease him or I will tell Seteth."

According to Yuri, Valeria and Count Rowe did not get along. The times Lord Lonato visited Arianrhod, the two of them got into heated arguements that Lord Lonato, Christophe, Lord Gwendal, Yuri or even Ashe himself had to stop.

Ashe looked up at the altar at the cathedral. Almost every night after Lonato's death, he would end up praying to the goddess for forgiveness since he blames himself for the death of Lord Lonato and his own kidnapping by the hands of the Western Church... the true masterminds of Lord Lonato's rebellion and Christophe's death.

"Ashe?" A voice was heard from behind.

He figured the voice would be Beles, who always checks on him when he's not in lessons, Mercedes, who is always tending to his wounds, Marianne, who is always praying at the cathedral, or, oddly enough, Yuri. When he turned around, VALERIA was facing him with a worried expression.

"Val?" His voice was mixed with shock and confusion.

"Are you praying again?" Valeria asked. "Is it about Lonato and Christophe?"

Silence occured. Valeria cursed herself since she asked something so personal to Ashe, even though she too was close to Christophe and Lord Lonato.

"Don't worry about me, Val." Ashe said. "I know I'm still upset at the Western Church for using Lonato and Christophe... and kidnapping me. And I know this may haunt me for the rest of my days, but I see this as another step for me becoming a knight."

"You've grown so much, Ashe..." Valeria said. "You really changed from the poor child who got injured all because he got into a fight with a baker for bread."

"Val!" Ashe covered his face in embarrassment. "Don't say that."

"Sorry." The green haired girl shook her head. "I forgot you were trying to atone for your past actions."

"But still." Ashe uncovered his face. "Thanks for coming for me. If it wasn't for you, Yuri or the summoner, who knows what would have happened."

"You do realize, you're talking to a FORMER MILITIA SOLDIER." Valeria crossed her arms.

"I was shocked when His Highness spared you." The silver haired boy shook his head. "You usually follow your motto of 'kill or be killed'."

"Dimitri makes a wonderful king." Valeria said. "A person I look up to."

"Yeah." Ashe said. "He is a kind person."

"Lord Lonato must have left us to make Faeghus a better kingdom for Fodlan." Valeria said. "It's like we are following his legacy."

Legacy... that was a word Ashe kept hearing. Ferdinand would say that he would follow the Aegir Legacy of Prime Minister and Lorenz never stopped talking about House Gloucester's noble legacy.

Ashe took something out of his pocket. It was a silver lion brooch with a blue diamond. It was delivered to him the day after Lord Lonato's rebellion and death by Eitri's hands. It was slightly charred, but the diamond never stopped shining. It was a sign that Lord Lonato would always be by his side.

"Ashe?" Valeria tapped his shoulder.

"Oh. Sorry." Ashe nearly dropped his brooch. "I was lost in thought."

"Come on, let's go eat dinner." Valeria grabbed his arm in a sisterly way. "Dedue is making dinner."

"Ah." Ashe gasped. "I really cannot resist Duscur cuisine. Dedue makes the best Duscur food."

They both went to the Dining Hall. Up above, the stars shined in the night sky.
