This chapter starts out three years ago in Tokyo.
Fifteen year old Sakuta is in his room.
Someone rings the doorbell a bunch and Sakuta still lays in bed trying to ignore the excessive ringing. He thinks to himself Just go away.
Then there is a knock on his window, but Sakuta's room is on the second floor of the house. Sakuta gets out of bed and thinks to himself That has to be rocks or something.
Sakuta pulls the curtains back and pulls up the blinds to see Izumi holding on to the window ledge for dear life. Sakuta opens up the window and Izumi says Don't ask, just get your ass out here.
Sakuta smiles and says Give me a minute.
The story then cuts back to Sakuta staring blankly at Izumi.
Sakuta in shock asks How the hell are you here?
Izumi still in shock asks Why does it look like you just died?
Sakuta pulls Izumi inside the clinic and says That's a long story.
Jin walks towards them and asks Who's he?
Sakuta: That's also a long story.
Touka from the backroom shouts My clinic isn't a meet and greet!
Jin goes to Touka.
Sakuta shouts back Sorry!
Izumi comes up to Sakuta and whispers to him Hey man I don't mean to dump this on you, but I've been hearing a voice in my head that won't shut up. You have any idea what's wrong with me? It even told me to come here.
Sakuta looks at Izumi with shock and says Come out Rika.
Rika comes out and asks Can you see me?
Izumi's jaw drops and he says Mhm sure I can.
Rika: So you're Izumi, I've heard a lot about you.
Izumi still in shock says I hope all good.
Rika goes back in Sakuta and he says You have one of those.
Izumi: What? No way dude. Can I bring it out?
Sakuta nods and says You just have to asks for its name.
Izumi starts to smile and says Say no more. What's your name?
Someone says to Izumi It's Mai Izaki.
Izumi excitedly says It told me.
Sakuta: Call its name.
Izumi calls out Mai Izaki.
Sakuta: It even gave you its last name.
Mai manifests and Izumi says What? Why do I get a kid and you get a hot one?
Mai hurt says A kid? It's not my fault I died when I was ten. Mai looks around and sees Jin in the back and says Jin is that really you? Mai gets closer to Jin and says He can't see me, can he?
Sakuta: you know Jin?
Mai is still looking around and sees Touka in the back room and shouts Touka! Please tell me you can see me.
Sakuta walks to Mai and says They're not cursed spirit users, so they can't see you. Sorry.
Mai looks up at Sakuta and says She has to, she's my sister.
Izumi: Is that why you brought me here?
Mai looks back to Izumi and says This is where we lived.
Rika comes out and says Only other cursed spirit and cursed spirit users can see you now.
Mai goes back in Izumi and Rika says Poor kid.
Sakuta: She's ten how could she developed a grudge? Izumi not today, but sometime I'll teach you how to form a bond with a cursed spirit.
Izumi looks confused and says I know how to make friends, Sakuta.
Sakuta starts to laugh and says I thought the same thing, this is completely different from making a friend.
The story cuts to the middle of the night.
There are flashes of when Sakuta was getting tortured.
Sakuta wakes up sweating and holding his hand over his left eye. Rika comes out and says Your heart rate spiked, are you okay?
Sakuta looks at Rika with his hand still over his eye says It's over now right? I think I'm having a panic attack.
Sakuta begins to hyperventilate and Rika holds him and says It's over, It's over now. I'm here. We won. Its over.
Chapter ends
