This chapter starts off in the one year time jump.
Sakuta walks outside the tavern where he killed Barry.
Rui follows behind him and thinks to herself I shouldn't have come. I'm just making him hate himself more.
They walk back to their carriage and Sakuta looks at the ground in shock at what he had just done.
Rui: I'm sorry, if I was there then-
Sakuta cuts her off saying I probably would have been forced to do the same thing if it was just me in there.
It cuts again to a couple of months into the future.
Rika and Sakuta are out in the field training.
The both of them clash blades for a little until Rika says You should ask out Rui.
Sakuta blushes and says What do you mean!
Rika swipes his legs out and says You two have been sleeping in the same bed for two months now.
Sakuta gets up and says And?
Rika swipes his legs again and says You're so stupid.
Sakuta gets up, brushes himself off and says If that'll get you off my ass, then I'll do it.
Now it cuts back to present day.
Sakuta leans back in his chair and remembers what Yui said You have a war ahead of you.
Sakuta thinks to himself Now of all the times it could've happened.
Rika comes out and says There's another piece of paper she picks it up and reads it aloud If you don't come by yourself then Lost Crimson dies.
Sakuta puts his hands over his face and says This has to happen right after I find happiness. I have things I can lose now.
Rika starts pacing back and forth then says I'll back you up no matter your choice, but be smart about it.
Sakuta stands up and goes to Izumi's room shows him the envelope and asks What do you know about this?
Izumi: We got it this morning and that's all I know.
Sakuta goes in Jin's room and asks Where's Afrest at?
Jin: It's a village on the south west boarder of the country.
Sakuta goes to his room and lays on his bed.
Sakuta thinks to himself what do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?
Rui comes into the room and asks Is everything all right Sakuta?
Sakuta sits up and says I don't know what to do.
Rui goes to sit by him and asks What happened?
Sakuta looks down and says I may be gone for awhile.
Rui looks concerned and asks What for?
Sakuta puts on a fake smile and says It's just for business.
Sakuta packs food, some clothes and steals a carriage.
Rika comes out and asks Is this the best think to do right now?
Sakuta: Definitely not, but I don't know what else to do and I can't risk it.
Rika shakes her head and says Everyone's going to be mad.
Sakuta: I know, but I need to get something before we go to Afrest.
The story cuts to Sakuta and Rika coming up on a building.
Rika comes out and says Wait! No, why are we here?
Now Sosuke's manor comes in full view and Sakuta says I'm getting something from here.
Rika: What's so important that we have to come back here?
They begin to walk through the manor and go down stairs.
Sakuta: Help me look for glorified metal syringes.
Rika looks around the cells then spots one and says Like this she picks it up and show it to him.
Sakuta nods and says Yes, but make sure they're full.
They keep searching until they come across an unstable section of flooring.
Sakuta stomps right through the floor and goes through it into a tunnel.
Rika: This is great.
Sakuta shouts I found it!
It then cuts back to Rui in bed thinking to herself Why'd you lie to me?
Izumi and Jin are outside her room.
Jin: He asked me where Afrest was at and that's all.
Izumi yells Damn it Sakuta! Why'd you go alone?
Rui thinks to herself Your child needs a father Sakuta.
Chapter ends.
