Chapter opens up with two kids crossing the street together when all the sudden a car hits one of them. The other one screams out Yui!
We get a close up other kids face and it is revealed that it is Sakuta. Sakuta pulls his sister Yui out of the street and then he stops to his knees crying over his little sister's corpse. The driver of the car that hit Yui gets out and says to Sakuta I'm s-s-so sorry. I..I wasn't paying attention. Sakuta still over his sister's body says quietly Come on, Yui we..we got to get back home. Sakuta pauses for a moment and begins to shake his sister's body a little while saying Come on st-stop playing pl-please.
Sakuta starts to raise his voice a little to Yui saying Yui please get up. Please.
Sakuta then let's out a gut wrenching scream, shouting Yui!!!
It cuts to Yui's funeral. Sakuta gets up to pay his respects to Yui. He puts his hand on her coffin and mutters to himself Im sorry it should have been me.
Sakuta's mom comes up to him and says It's time to go home, kid.
We see some things over the couple of days with Sakuta in his room constantly thinking to himself It should have been me. One day Sakuta gets out of bed to use the restroom and finds his mother dead in the bathtub with her wrists slit. Sakuta falls to the ground and starts to cry.
Story cuts to Sakuta and Rika snapping out of it. Both of them with tears falling down their cheeks; give each other a hug.
Sakuta: I felt everything.
Rika starts to sob and says It was like they were my real family.
Sakuta starts to giggle and says Did you see all myself loathing? Thank god for that bastard Izumi.
Rika still crying says Who's Izumi?
Sakuta: Huh, it really only showed the dark stuff. And you're still crying. Maybe you're not so cold after all, Rika.
Rika pissed say I'll freeze your ass, Sakuta.
Sakuta: I was just joking. I know you're a cryogenic ice queen.
Rika kinda hurt looks to the side and says Whatever.
Sakuta reaches for Molly's journal and says Onto the next step. You ready, Rika?
