"It's great to see you again but please never come back."
"Have you heard anything of Saul?", Sky asks me during lunch break, "Neither Farah nor Ben have called me yet." "And you assume that I know more?", I wonder. "Scar, Saul could die any minute. This is by far the worst moment for irony."
"And yesterday was by far the worst moment to leave me alone, Sky", I snap at him, "We were supposed to be there for each other but you left because you were looking for Bloom. Did you even mean it when you said you were glad that we have each other?"
"Scar-", Sky begins but is interrupted as we enter the greenhouse. "Just call me when you feel better or worse", I hear his voice again and face him as he turns around. "Stephen", I whisper surprised to see him.
I know I've been the one who messaged him but it still feels unbelievable to stand in front of him. "Thanks for letting me know, Scar", Stephen nods and walks past me leaving the greenhouse and leaving us confused behind.
Ben couldn't tell us anything else than that he's trying his best to help Saul as good as possible. Sky and I nodded disappointed and left. We would come back tomorrow.
"I'm sorry leaving you yesterday. You were right. We are a team, Scar, and I've let you down. I'm sorry for that. I'll be here whenever you need me", Sky apologizes, "Can you forgive me?" I nod smiling at him lightly.
"Do you want to talk about Stephen? Who even told him to come?", Sky wonders and looks at me worriedly. "It was me. He needed to know and we forgot to tell him right after it happened so I messaged him last night." "Are you okay? Messaging someone is one thing but seeing him-"
"It's fine", I quickly say and feel like it's fine for real, "We've got real problems right now. But thanks Sky. I'll let you know if I need to talk about it." "Anytime, Scar", Sky assures me and hugs me tightly, "I love you, Scar." "I love you, too, baby twin", I chuckle hugging him back.
"I should have told you that I'd be coming", Stephen immediately regrets as soon as he sees me as I approach him in an abandoned corner. I knew I would find him here. He's not the type of person who would completely ignore me.
He just tried to avoid me by visiting Saul during my lesson. "I didn't want you to see me", he continues, "I'm sorry." "I know", I sigh sitting down on the bench next to him, "I'm sorry about Saul." "He raised you. I should be sorry."
"He's your brother", I argue. "I wanted to call you", Stephen changes the topic not wanting to think about Saul for a moment. "I understand that you didn't." "I did", Stephen laughs frustratedly, "I called your old number to hear your voicemail. I just wanted to hear your voice."
"Are you going to lecture me when I say that I've missed you?", I tell him indirectly. "I act like I didn't hear this", Stephen chuckles. "Can we make the best out of the situation and just go home together?", I give it a try but Stephen shakes his head seriously.
"You know I can't, Scar. Even if you and I could be something, my girlfriend wouldn't be amused." His girlfriend. I gulp. "Yeah, yeah. Oh, it's late. I have to see my friends you know", I quickly mutter and stand up. Stephen knows me and is about to hold me back but sees the lightning around my hands. "I didn't mean to hurt you, Scar." "Me too."
I actually had class as well but I wanted to make sure that Saul is doing better. I was surprised to see him back at training soon so I began walking around the garden watching him. How could he risk getting better? This is too much work for him.
Sky's training is bad, of course. He's been worrying, too. At least we've been talking every day after the accident. Stephen however only visits Saul whenever I'm in class. "Do you see any difference?", Stella asks me as she stops by and I shake my head.
"His eyes are still dark, he's still got some wounds, of course. I'm afraid he won't make it", I whisper for the first time in a week and watch how Saul is going to his next students. "What do you think, Stella?", Sky comes over to us, Riven next to him.
"What do I think?", she asks confused. Riven takes his bottle to drink and places his free hand on my knee afterwards. "How does Saul seem to you?", Sky repeats his question. "Quiet fine", she replies and seems like her mind is somewhere else.
"What a great nonsense-Stella-diagnosis", Riven comments. "Do you still have training or are we going to do something together?", she ignores Riven and looks back at Sky. Okay, there must be something wrong.
Stella cares about Sky and I, she wouldn't just ignore this topic if she didn't worry about something else. "Sky. He's fine. Professor Harvey is treating him with medicine, right?" "It only helps with the symptoms", I make clear.
"A lot of people are looking for the burned one out there. The burned one can't hide from all the fairies and specialists in the world. I have to go, don't worry about it", she says instead and gives Sky a kiss on his cheeks before giving me a hug and leaving.
"She has to be really great", Riven adds, "Surely, she does crazy things with her tongue." "What do you mean?", Sky asks. "I just try to find out why you started going out with her again", Riven states and I nod. "I was surprised", I admit.
"She's crazily hot, yeah, but I clearly stress the word crazy", Riven goes on and grins then, "It's her butt, right? Don't tell me she lets you-" "Shut up, Riven", Sky groans and pushes me lightly as a device to push Riven and make Riven fall down.
"I mean I would love to say she's the reason for your bad week but I know how close you two and Silva are. Sky, if you want to talk about it as well, I'm here." I smile and lay my hand in Riven's thankfully as he's being a good friend to Sky when needed.
"Uh, I have to go now, okay?", Sky replies and leaves us. "Don't worry about him", I mumble against Riven's shoulder being closer to him. "I'm here whenever you need me", Riven assures me softly. Indeed, he's spent the past week just by helping me.
