setting up the barriers

My favorite part about Stella's plan must be taking revenge on Beatrix and finding out who Rosalind is. If Bloom finds her, she can tell me what she did to have an impact on my magic. While the girls and I make the plan, I get a message from Sky telling me to get ready. 

Saul is going to need every fairy and every specialist available. I'm about to ignore this but the girls tell me to get ready. "He's your family and this is your job as a fairy and specialist at the same time", Stella tells me understanding, "But don't dare getting hurt. I need you alive." 

"Of course. I wish you good luck and whenever you need me, just send me a message. We're friends and I'll be there", I let the girls know before changing into my specialists clothes and running to the barrier as quickly as possible.

"Should I be worried that I first found out by Aisha that Bloom has numbed you, Sky, or that you, Scar, have helped them to come up with their plan?", Saul claims as we're preparing ourselves for war against the burned ones. 

"I don't know. Should I be worried about finding out about Asterdale by Bloom?", Sky snaps back and I'm pretty proud of him for finally standing up for himself against Saul. 

"Yeah or that I have still not found out what you know more about me than I do?", I add reproachfully, "You know exactly what Rosalind has done to me to prepare me for dad's fight but no one tells me about it."

"We talk about this later", Saul avoids talking about it once again and moves forward so we follow him to the other students. "What it does it look like?" 

"I think the burned one went along this way. Show it again", Kat says and Riven pulls out his phone so they compare the video to real life. 

"Kat?" "I know the cave that Noura passed while running." "Okay, then let's go", Saul decides but Riven stops him. "Wait, not without fairies. There are at least six burned ones out there. We're not stupid." 

"It's a command, Riven. So shut up", I butt in and I have to admit, that was quite satisfying. I know we've had our ups and downs and I'm no saint either but he's changed a lot since going out with Beatrix. He's willingly hurting people. 

"We've got one fairy here. That has to be enough. Scar's strong enough to protect us", Sky corrects Riven as well and we're about to go but we hear the noises again, "That's not coming from the woods. It's coming from the school." "Go! Run back and bring all the students into the hall immediately, go!"

Sky and I look through every room at school telling everyone to go into the hall where we could protect them. On our way, we find Bloom. I let them have their discussion as privately as possible, but well, under those circumstances, I've heard everything. 

But we ignore the topic for now and move on. When we knock on the door to our suite, no one answes so we try to open it but it's locked. Weird. It's locked by magic. The magic at Alfea decreases so we can open the door by pushing against it. 

The first thing I see is someone laying on the ground and when I realize it's Sam, I immediately run to him and lay over him. "We have to get help", Terra says worriedly. "What's happened?", I ask so I know how I could to help. 

"He said that a burned one is in school. He was attacked", Musa exclaims terrified. "He has to be in the inner courtyard as well. They cordon it off to all sides", Sky informs the others and helps me to carry Sam there. "We should be safe down there."

"Dad!", Terra calls for Ben as soon as we're closer to him and we run faster to lay Sam down on one table in front of Ben. 

"Sam. I need Zanbaq, now! He's lost a lot of blood", Ben notices and starts looking at his wound, "Why haven't you brought him here earlier?" 

"We've been locked up, did you forget?" By the way Ben looks at Terra anyone could see that he regrets being so strict to her.

"As you may already know, burned ones have crossed the barrier and gotten into the school", Farah announces in the hall so knowing that Ben helps Sam, I turn to Farah and listen to her plan, "Due to unknown reasons, the magic sources that provide us with electricity broke down. I've talked to queen Luna before this happened. She can understand our difficult situation and military forces from Solaria are on their way. We barricade the hall and we are safe for the moment but we have to prepare for the burned ones to break in before the military forces arrive. We've been training hard for this. Stay calm and be brave. Let your magic guide you. Let them know that you're at Alfea for a good reason. Set up the barriers."

I'm about to help setting up the barriers as I hear a familiar voice behind me. "What are you doing here?", I wonder as Stephen approaches me. "Well, I've heard that Alfea is in trouble and if one soldier more means one less burned one, I'm in." 

"You wouldn't need to help us", I state not understanding why he would risk his life willingly. "I couldn't have stayed at home knowing you're in danger. I'll do whatever I can to protect you. If anything happened, I would have wanted you to know what you mean to me." 

I furl my eyebrows not understanding how he can say this when his girlfriend is probably at home so I simply nod. "It's good to see you", I say softly and continue setting up the barrier. At least this mess is keeping me from thinking about Stephen and his surprising comeback too much.
