B vs. S

"Don't flirt with your lover's mom."

When we come back, everything seems to be normal at Alfea. On way later, I'm still shocked about the house burning down but it calms me down to see mom stepping over to Stephen and I when we sit in the garden. 

"Oliva, it's good to see you again", Stephen greets mom and stands up to hug her, "You look even better than before." I feel the connection the two share and it makes me smile. They must have been great alltogether. Mom, Stephen, Saul and dad. Many years ago. 

"Give compliments to my daughter, not to me", mom chuckles but hugs him, "It's good to see you, too. It's been a long time." "Indeed", Stephen nods and is about to continues but dad appears suddenly next to mom and interrupts him. 

"You're joining the specialists' training again. Be on time tomorrow morning", he tells me seriously but it's making me so happy that I smile widely even if he doesn't seem to be amused. "And you can sleep in your brother's old apartment and help the teachers", dad adds looking at Stephen. 

Wow, they don't usually like each other but dad just said two really great things. I don't care about his reasons, I know that mom made him do this but it's fine. I thank him before he leaves and grin at mom to thank her as well.

It's getting late so Stephen and I want to go back to Saul's room so we can spend the night together. This would be the first night that we're officially staying in the same room. Saul would kill us if he found out about it but well.. Saul's got other problems right now. 

I've had enough bad moments during the past weeks so for once, I don't care about what others think. I just do what I want to do in this moment. Well, I would if someone didn't interrupt me and my positive thoughts. 

Beatrix has passed me in a way to bump into me hard and intentionally. "Excuse me?", I scoff angrily not wanting to deal with her ego problems today. "Apology accepted", she grins at me grimly, "Just watch where you're going next time." 

"Are you kidding me?", I exclaim annoyed by how she's trying to make me angry but also by me letting her do it. "I'm sorry but unlike your dad, I'm not kidding you. Andreas however is joking when he lets you back to the specialists." 

"What the hell is your problem, Beatrix? Don't you have someone to murder?" "My problem?", Beatrix laughs spitting and making me take a step back, "My problem is your royal ass, Scar. It'd be time for me to finally take care of you. Don't worry, I'm not going to be soft." 

I see Beatrix showing off her lightnings so I do the same and let my magic appear so the lightnings surround my hands as well. "Come on, Scar, show me your full potential. I just hope that your mom won't leave you again when she sees what a monster you are", Beatrix provokes me and my eyes turn icy blue. 

She knows that I'm stronger than her. Farah used to work on finding out the reason for the difference between me and the others. It's the same with Bloom except for the fact that this is way more complicated than my story. 

Beatrix knows that I'm stronger and if Rosalind had to decide, she would pick me. "Scar, it's enough", Stephen whispers next to me but I shake my head ready to attack Beatrix who's still grinning widely. She won't be grinning anymore when I'm done with her. "Scar!" 

"Hey, leave her alone, Scar", Dane suddenly appears between Beatrix and I and pulls out his sword. "You've learnt everything you know from my family. I'm not afraid of you", I laugh rolling my eyes but quickly shut up when he holds the blade right in front of my face almost attacking me. 

I knew I wouldn't have used my magic on other students so I have to shut up. Dane would make use of his sword way quicker than I would use my magic on him or anyone else. He's trying to impress Beatrix. 

"What's going on here?", I hear mom's voice and she also appears in front of me telling Dane to back off. Mom may say something but she's not a specialist so students wouldn't listen to her. That's probably why Riven also joins us pulling out his sword against Dane. 

"Leave her alone, bro", Riven warns Dane and I gulp. That escalated quickly. Just because both Beatrix and I are hurt. Dad doesn't treat anyone right here. I even understand her somehow. That's when I stop showing off my magic and get back to my normal physical state. 

I see dad rushing over to Beatrix and taking care of her but as I've calmed down already, I stop worrying about them. I don't want to become like Beatrix only trying to impress my dad. He doesn't want to be my dad so I stop trying to make him someone he's not. 

"Are you alright?", Stephen asks me quickly taking my hand. I nod still feeling confused about how we could have let it escalate like this and look at Riven. He's usually hanging out with Beatrix and Dane so it means a lot that he stood up for me in front of them. I hug him tightly. 

"Thank you", I whisper and feel Riven nodding into my shoulder. "Come, Scar, let's get you back and get some rest", mom tells me softly so I follow her and Stephen back to his room. What an unnecessarily exhausting time these days.

"Are you feeling better?", mom asks as she sits down with me in Saul's living room and Stephen hands me a glass of water. "A lot better", I confirm realizing how much better I've felt when I understood why Beatrix acts this way. 

She's trying to be this strong and uninterested girl when in reality, she's just a hurt girl who wants to be with her dad. I know that because I was just like her but that won't be me anymore. If dad doesn't want to be my dad, it's fine. I'm happy without him. 

I've got many more loving people around me who I can count on. "Do you love him?", I asks mom wondering why she already lives with him at Alfea although he's been the one who took her children away from her. 

"It's complicated, Scar", mom answers sadly and her look tells me what she's thinking about. If she didn't stay with dad, Rosalind may have sent her away again and dad would treat Sky and I even worse. I'm only a specialist again because mom has talked to him. 

"We can leave, mom. Sky and I can come to the first world with you-" "No, Scar. You two belong here. We're going to make this work somehow. No matter what happens, I'll stay here with you and Sky."
