Last night I got a call from my daughter telling me that she was fine and that she missed us. I missed her too and she told me not to worry about her that much, she told me what Olunje had done to Samke's friend; she was so traumatised she was even in tears. I just wanted my baby back home where she belongs and so did my mom. I called Sipho updating him what has been happening in his absence and he promised to come home today. The Norris's have been very helpful but one thing I was against was Mr Norris and Mr Hlathi rescuing my daughter without me. I'm her mother and as much as there's not much I can do but I'm her mother and my daughter needs me. Mr Norris was planning on going there today with Mr Hlathi of cause. I woke up and washed and went to hang my things, got dressed quick quick and then waited for Mr Norris, he said he would call when he got here. As I was sitting like that mom walked in with two cups of tea.
Her: morning baby
She gave me the other cup and then sat down next to me
Me: morning ma and thanks
Her: it's what mothers are for. How are you doing?
Me: knowing that I'll be seeing my daughter today makes me happy and nervous
Her: did you pray?
Me: yes, mom it was the last thing I did last night and the first thing this morning
Her: I taught you well.
Me: The Norris's are so helpful
Her: yeah well he was raised by the right woman. Who is this Mr Hlathi?
Me: I don't know him honestly but apparently he's a big shot. Some business mogul
Her: I hope he doesn't deal shady
Me: no he's not into shady dealings mom relax
Her: I'm just making sure. I don't want to be put in a situation whereby we owe this man with our whole lives
Me: I know mom
Her: Olunje's grandmother came over yesterday while you were in town
Me: what did she want?
Her: to apologise for everything her daughter has put you through. She told me what happened between her and her daughter and why she left Olunje
Me: I don't care about her sappy sad story. She failed to raise her daughter the right way and now my daughter is paying for it
Her: now now Sino calm down. She's a mother just like you and I and as a mother I expect you to understand that a mother can only do so much to raise their child the best they could and what the child does from there on is not the mother's fault. Every mother tries to be the best they can to their child, it's the child's decision to go astray from their mother's teachings.
I kept quiet. Mom was a wise woman, always has been and probably always will be. I don't know where I would be without her, heck I can't even imagine my life without her. She's always known what to say in any situation and the advice she gives is always helpful. Maybe I was wrong for judging Samke's mom but still, it's just the way it is. A child does something wrong, we blame the parents for not raising them right when we suppose to blame the child. I guess I was just mad at their whole family
Her: she told me she got a call from Samke the other day saying she was worried about Olunje's mental health
Me: what do you mean?
Her: she says Samke mentioned something about Bipolar or something
Me: Samke thinks her son has bipolar?
