When I was done washing I buried myself in books until I got a call from my granny. I answered it immediately.
//Me: Gogi wam
Her: hello my little princess how are you?
Me: how are you granny?
Her: I'm good my baby. What are you doing there? How's school?
Me: I'm currently studying
Her: you writing tomorrow?
Me: no but apparently our lecturer asks a lot of questions and if you don't answer you're in trouble. So to answer your question school sucks. I want to go back to grade 11
She laughed at me
Her: oh my poor baby. School was never easy and so is varsity.
Me: gogi they don't teach here
Her: that's what university is, they lecture you and groom you to be able to think on your own
Me: but it's still tooo much Gogi
Her: you will be fine my baby. No-one has ever died because of too much work
Me: you'd be surprised
I murmured.
Her: what?
Me: nothing Gogi. So what are you doing?
Her: I just drank tea. I miss your tea and your food
Me: I've only been gone for 4 days' granny
Her: that's still a lot. Your mom is at work and I'm at home bored without your company
Me: Buhle told me she came to see you
Her: Bush is not you
Trust my granny to be a cry baby when she wants to.
Me: granny I will be back during holidays.... Whenever that will be
Her: but I want you here
Me: says the person who was even helping me pack up my things and telling me to get out of Tshani and go get a better life
Her: oh my baby. I thought I could but I don't think I can anymore. I miss you too much
I missed her just as much.
Me: I miss you too Gogi
Her: I know. make me proud Ziqelekazi and be the best that you can be. Show those white kids what you are made of and make us proud. I love you my baby and I only pray that the Lord gets you where you are meant to be my love. Again I love you ok and don't forget to pray every day and read your bible ok. Be the same good girl you were when you were and do not be conformed by the things of that city ok. be the daughter I raised you up to be ok and make us proud at all times
I couldn't hold back the tears. I'm an emotional person where my grandmother is concerned and the way she speaks to me. I pray every day that I never disappoint her and the rest of my family.
Me: oh granny come on stop. You making me emotional
Her: I didn't mean to baby
Me: I will do my best granny. Please take good care of yourselves and I love you Mambhele
Her: ok goodnight. Get back to your studies. That's if its night time there
Me: bye granny. //
After talking to my granny I decided to hit the sack, I was tired from books and today as a whole. As I was under the covers, a knock came through. I was hesitant to answer and the person wasn't giving up so I gathered up the strength and went to get the door. It was some girl I've seen around the corridors with a bunch of flowers, white roses and a box of chocolates.
