Chapter 7

"Did you have dinner?" Asked my grandma, who was sitting next to my grandpa watching TV.

"I didn't, but I'm not hungry". I said leaving the shopping bags on the kitchen table.

"Don't skip your meals, there's food in the fridge". She stood up and walked over.

"And your friend?" Asked grandpa.

"Ah, she's staying in Seoul tonight". Grandma started to get dishes out of the fridge. I swear it was filled with Tupper wares. "Grandma, I'm not hungry, really".

"Just eat, or you will be snacking later". I sighed and nodded. Trying to negotiate with her about food was a losing game.

"Weren't you both together? Why did you come back alone?" Insisted my grandpa.

"Ah, well..." I couldn't say them I was out with a guy I just met, right? "We went to Itaewon but I didn't want to stay too long. I'm leaving in a couple of days so I wanted to spend more time with you". I smiled innocently at him. He just laughed; he was obviously not buying it.

"You're so sweet sometimes". My grandma patted my shoulder with a smile, she obviously bought it.

"Just sometimes?" I complained, and she laughed.

Since grandma was not taking a no for an answer, I went to wash up before eating. The moment I went out of the bathroom, I heard my phone ringing. It was Chan.

"Did you get home?" He wrote.

"Yes, I'm going to have dinner. Grandma is reheating me some food".

"Home cooking!!!! Delicious!!!" I wondered if they cooked often at the dorm.

"Did you eat?"

"Yeah, I ordered some food when I got to the studio". So he did have something to do.

"Are you working right now?"

"Yup. I took a break since Bin went for something to drink; I saw the time and guessed you would be home... if you took the right bus". I send an angry emoji and he just replied by laughing.

"Mia!" Grandma called.

"Grandma is calling me. Talk to you later. Today was fun". Rainbow emoji.

"Yeah, I think I should go out more often. Oh, Seo Changbin is back. I think I will go back to work. Enjoy your meal!"

"Thank you". I went downstairs on cloud nine.

It wasn't in my plans but it ended up being a nice chilly night with my grandparents. I had dinner with them on the couch while watching TV. They were watching The Masked Singer, so I joined them happily.

The next day, my grandpas wanted me to join them for hiking. Since I called Ella early and she didn't get the call, I supposed she was still busy so I joined. It's not like I had something planned. Well, I had but with Ella and she wasn't available.

You could tell the weather was getting a bit warmer since summer was approaching. Gramps said it was the perfect weather to go hiking, but after 30 minutes, I didn't agree. I loved winter and fall with all my heart.

I was surprised they could keep it up for straight 2 hours. I thought, for sure, they were going to take a rest mid-way; but they didn't. They went up and down taking a single stop aside from a few minutes at the top to take some fresh air and a few photos. I don't know how many selfies my grandpa and I took since I was a child, I could tell I was in his soft spot. He came to my rescue every time my grandma or mom came after me. I was a spoiled granddaughter. And, as the spoiled granddaughter I was, grandpa got me ice cream on our way home. I don't know if he was aware that I was a grown-ass woman but he looked happy, so I was.
