I was astonished. It took me a moment to digest what was going on.

As you know, there are things that you shouldn't do when someone is confessing but heck no; my stupid brain was malfunctioning like never before. I was in such a state of disbelief and so happy I started to laugh.

Chan's expression went from serious to embarrassed, to "please, get me out of here". He looked down at his feet, scratching his temple with his index finger, side-eyeing me partially hidden behind his hand.

"God, yes!" I was trying to stop but it was difficult. "I mean... should we?"

"Are you ok?" He giggled but looked confused.

"I'm sorry. I'm not laughing at you; it's just that it's hard to believe what's happening".

"Ah... it can be". He nodded and passed his hand through the side of his neck, like straightening the muscle.

"I'm in". I said finally getting serious, adjusting myself in the seat, rotating a little bit towards him. He turned to me and I meet his gaze again. "But to be fair, and before anything starts, I don't know how much time I'll be here. I managed to stay for a couple of months, but if something comes up, I'll have to leave".

"I don't know if I can do this right either. To be honest..." He sighed and leaned forward grabbing the seat and making his knuckles whiter. "I'll have my scheduled packed in less than two months too".

"Our circumstances are not the best, are they?"

"Not at all". He flicked his tongue.

"But", I pocked his hand making him turn to me one more time, "we can give it a try, as long as we can".

"As long as we can", he repeated but as a confirmation. We locked eyes for a second there but I was so nervous I couldn't think straight, you can already tell.

"Ok!" I stood up with a jump. "Let's get going!" I grabbed him by the arm to get him up and linked my arm with his.

"Where are we going?"

"Karaoke".

We ended up going home past 3 in the morning. We were wasted, we didn't drink but we were tired as heck. Chan and I took taxis separately since it was faster for both to get home that way.

"I'm home". I texted him as soon as I stepped into the apartment.

"I'm getting in the building right now".

"Make sure you don't wake up anyone".

"I don't think anyone would wake up even if I tried to". He wrote laughing.

"We are still going out tomorrow, right?" Before he appeared in Itaewon that night, we had planned to go out on Saturday after lunchtime.

"Of course, do we have the reservation?"

"Yes! I got a confirmation call in the morning too".

"All settled then".

"I think so". I sent with a smiling face. "I'm dead. I'll take a shower and go to sleep. You must be tired too".

"I'm fine. Sleep well, see you tomorrow".

"You too, see you tomorrow". I sent with a pink heart. As soon as I sent it I wanted to delete it and scream but he saw it the same second I clicked "send".

I put my phone under my pillow and ran to the bathroom in an attempt to escape from the consequences of what I just have done. After taking a shower and finishing my skincare routine, I checked my phone nervously. All Chan sent back was a sticker of Frodo sleeping, but it was comforting somehow because I didn't have to deal with the cringe I felt from myself.

I got in bed thinking about what happened, it felt like I would wake up the next morning and realize it was a dream. I grabbed my phone and opened a new tab in notes, I quickly wrote what happened that day and read it over and over again until I fell asleep, just in case I couldn't believe myself the next day.

The following day, it took me about an hour to wake up. The first thing I did was check my phone, it was 1 pm already and that explained why I was so hungry. I decided to call Ella while making lunch, I barely talked with her after she left Seoul, but she didn't pick up.

"Hey, how are you? I'm making lunch; I kinda miss your cooking. Call me when you got time". I texted her.

I made some curry since I was craving it for a few days, and ended up making too much. I could definitely eat curry three days in a row now. Then, I cleaned and prepare myself to go out.

I was feeling kinda lazy, to be honest. I wasn't used to sleeping so late, it felt like a hangover but I was sure I didn't drink that much. I sobered up like 2 or 3 hours before going to bed. That couldn't be, right?

"Good morning?" I received a call from Chan.

"Hi! More like... good afternoon?" I replied.

"I don't know, I woke up like an hour ago. I feel lost". I laughed at him. I could imagine his face that morning, and it made me feel a bit guilty.

"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have taken you around until so late! You were coming from schedule, didn't you?"

"Yeah, but it's fine. I didn't expect to get home that late either but... uhm... it's ok". He giggled. "I kinda like that... uhm... that I'm doing things I don't usually do".

"Glad to hear it. I'm about to get going". I said checking if I had everything I needed in my bag.

"I'm on my way already".

"Ah, I'll go now then". I turned around to check everything in the room was ok, and put on my shoes.

"There's no need to hurry, I just left early in case there was some traffic; you're closer".

"Am I?"

"Yeah".

"Well, I'm out already. I'm getting into the elevator; call you when I'm almost there".

"Ok". I put my phone in my bag and hurried as much as I could even though he said not to do it.

I was completely chill before he called, but the moment I heard him I got all excited again. I would replay last night in my head over and over again.

Our date was in a shooting center that time. I spent an entire day thinking about something interesting we could do, and something he didn't get to do often and would like him. He liked sports though, and the weather was kinda hot that day so after a lot of thinking and listening to Freeze on Spotify, I came out with the idea. Chan loved it, so it was it.

After checking my phone a hundred times to not miss the stop I had to get off, the first thing I saw when the bus door opened was Chan waving at me.

"Hi!" I greeted happily. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought I could wait for you here so you wouldn't miss the right stop". He said trying to pick on me already.

"So funny". I faked a laugh. He just looked at me and laughed.

"Let's get going, it's almost time". Chan turned around and started walking after taking my hand, gently pulling me over, but letting it slide afterward.

I side-eyed him, surprised. I could notice his ears getting slightly red and his neck tensing up after a hard swallow. It was obvious we could not do anything in public, but that was enough to make me happy. I pressed my lips together trying to hide the dumb smile on my face.
