The next couple of weeks, Chan and I didn't see each other at all aside from a couple of times we shortly video called each other over a meal or really late at night.
As I thought, they were having a comeback the second week of August.
I was happy, there was a lot of content coming up and it was the first time I was watching them live on TV. But I was missing Chan already. You can't blame me since the last month we met almost every other day, and before that, we talked a lot on the phone and went out at least once per week.
I was really chill on my bed watching Changbin's birthday live that afternoon. I thought that he was going to skip it since they had a lot to do but he didn't. I almost couldn't get over how cute he looked with that rabbit headwear when, while I was writing a comment in the chat, Chan got in the camera frame.
"Oh, hyung! Did you come to greet me?" Changbin said cutely.
"Hello! Of course". He laughed walking to him and patting his head. "Hi Stay!", he greeted waving to the camera. "Did you try the cake already?"
"This feels so weird", I muttered.
"No, we haven't sung yet. Do you think I'll dig in before singing? Ah?" Bin shouted and they started bickering with each other.
They talked about the new album for a while; it was going to be released in a few hours so we were all expectant. We got the main track the previous week and oh, God! It was nuts! It was really powerful; it reminded me of the main tracks from In Life and Levanter.
"Stay, hope you get to like this album even more than the last one. Give this friend a lot of love", said Chan patting Changbin's shoulder from behind. "Bye-bye". He waved and started to walk out.
"Are you leaving?" asked Changbin.
"I just came to say hi".
"Oh... hyung, and what about my present?" They both started laughing.
"At home, I left it at home".
"Ah, it's ok if you didn't get me something".
"I really left it at home".
"Really?" He asked all excited.
"Yeah".
"Oh, I want to go home now". He started to do those little noises he always does when he's happy or excited. I bet he would have hit someone if there was anyone next to him.
"Don't say that, you're with Stay now".
"Ah, Stay, sorry. I just got excited by my hyung's love. He said side-eyeing Chan who was laughing. You couldn't see him anymore, but you could hear him.
"Bye Stay!"
"Are you going out?" Changbin asked quickly before he was gone for real. I didn't hear anything but the next thing Changbin said was, "Really?"
"Yes", said Chan.
"Oh... just go then".
"Bye Stay". He greeted once more. "Stay with our little Changbinnie". I then heard the door closing.
"Stay, this hyung is working really hard". Bin said before starting to read some comments.
I thought Chan was probably on his way to work in the studio so I was really surprised when I got a call from him.
"Hi", I said.
"Hello", he said very vividly. "What are you doing?"
"Uhm..." I giggled. It was weird, wasn't it? "I was watching Changbin's live". I laughed hard out of embarrassment.
