"I had arranged everything already. I had to make some adjustments to your contract though, Joshua will take over some of your responsibilities in the office while you take over the revision and edition of the Korean partnership works. Since Lawrence usually has just 1 or 2 writers, she will take over all the work related to the printer. Your income will be slightly affected but you will get commission for every novel we get to publish from those guys, and you will still get your share for the writers you work with. It's all written, so check it and sign it if you agree. Let me know before the day ends".

"Ok". I muttered. A bunch of information was being thrown at me after just the exchange of five words between us. "I'll check it right away since Leo is late". He nodded, I took the paper from his desk and left.

I had knocked on Richard's office door with my resignation letter in hand, ready to end my career at the company right there. And after Friday's conversation, I wasn't expecting any of that.

I struggled to go through the papers after witnessing what I did. Did Richard really change his mind over the weekend?

When I finally got to focus on what I was reading, I noticed the minor changes in my tasks and income in detail. I couldn't complain at all, actually, it was all too good to be true. If we ended up publishing their works, I would earn even more than before since I was the only editor in charge of the Korean writers.

I took the papers signed to Richard's office before lunch break just to find Clair with him.

"I can come later if you want". I said after he let me in.

"No, it's fine. Did you sign them?"

"Yeah, it's all good. Thanks". I handed him the papers.

"Give Lawrence and Joshua all the info they need and some guidance during this week. You can start working remotely starting next Monday".

"There's still a month before I start working with the other team though".

"Yeah, I know. Organize your time as you see convenient".

"Uh... ok". I nodded. "Thank you again".

During lunch, I couldn't help but think about Richard's attitude. I wanted to talk to him and know what was going on but I was not going to. The fact that he was telling me to work from home so soon only meant he didn't want me around the office; I could tell that much after knowing him for so long.

I was happy though, being able to dispose of my own time as I pleased meant I could do many things, even more now that I didn't have so many things to take care of! I texted Chan right away, it was 4 a.m. in Seoul, but I couldn't wait to tell him the news.

That week, we had all sorted out with Chan. We were meeting on Wednesday, there was no more time to waste.

Chan had to fly to Japan because of work for 3 days the following week, and I was tagging along. Of course, I wasn't going to be able to spend most of the time with him because he had things to do at the studio but some time for ourselves we were going to have.

I was insanely happy. My brother even gave me ideas of things to do and places to go to since he went on vacation with his friends half a year ago.

The best of all was that I was spending the day with Chan on our anniversary. This time, for real.

"Are you sure? Why don't you stay another week?" Asked my mom. "You won't start working with the other company right away anyway". We were setting the table for dinner.

"I'm meeting my boyfriend, Mom. Anniversary".

"Oh! So, you finally tell us", Dad giggled while placing our plates.
