Chapter 6: prove'em wrong

After a short break, Lini and Taker were in the ring, Lini was wearing gloves while Taker was wearing foam arm warmers. The exercise was to see how Lini defended herself and her dodges. But he decided to go very hard with her since he doesn't appreciate her behavior towards him. Without warning he tackled her to make her fall. "Get up!" He yelled at her when she couldn't avoid his tackle. "Too slow!" he shouted when he dodged a blow from Lini. Sometimes she manages to dodge but Taker goes too fast. 1..2...3...4...5 tackles received by Taker without her being able to do anything, the Ministry laughs when Lini is on the ground. Mideon looks at her pained, not laughing but has a sad smile wondering if she will be able to put her ego aside. Lini is on the ground, her arms in stars, tired from her first practice with the Ministry. Taker stands on top of her, his feet on either side of Lini, glaring at her. "If you don't listen to your coach's advice even if he is ungrateful to you, you will never progress!" Said Taker looking at her still lying exhausted. He steps over her and leaves the ring leaving Lini on the ring floor.

The Ministry leaves the hangar but Paul decides to step into the ring, helping Lini to her feet. "I'm not going to hide it, it's going to be very hard for you but you have to hang on." Said Paul giving her a bottle of water. "I...I don't think I could do it..." She said, thinking herself defeated. "Lini, tomorrow, he's going to show you the different intimidation you could do, I'm going to tell you something that I know since I worked with him: everything is in your eyes, the way you talk" Lini went to speak but Taker opened the hangar door and knocked on it twice urging Paul to come in the car. "You have talent Lini, you can do it" He said before leaving with Taker.

Lini came home from her first session with Taker, exhausted, she collapsed on her couch. She takes the remote control to turn on the TV. She sees a Houston Police press conference with a "Josh McClay case reopened" banner, so she turns up the volume to listen. "I am the new Chief of Police James Rodriguez and I decide to reopen the case of our former colleague officer McClay. I will do everything possible to find the culprit who killed our colleague and two of our citizens two years ago. We will study the case, review the various testimonies and then we will offer $5,000 for anyone who has information on the case, thank you," the new police chief said before leaving the conference. Lini turns off the TV when Will comes downstairs, she gets up and gives him a hug, needing comfort. "Did you see? Josh's case is reopened." He said calmly to Lini rubbing her back. "Yeah but I hope they'll find something..." She said with tears in her eyes, she lost hope a long time ago and with what's going on with Taker, her mental mind is getting already tired.

A few days later, Lini is at the hotel for the next Raw taping. Throughout her week, she hasn't stopped bumping into Taker during practice. Wednesday, the second night she went to the shed, Taker showed her the different ways to intimidate opponents by talking, looking at them and even during matches. She started to get angry when Taker raised his voice a bit when it was the thirtieth time he was telling her not to look down. She got angry when he told her she was still too slow and not intimidating enough. She was even more pissed that almost the entire ministry is still making fun of her, but she knows deep down that she can improve.

Thursday, Taker was not yet gentle with her, he made her run for an hour in the cold and in the rain. "Go lazy woman!" He shouted when she got slow, everyone laughed at her situation like it was a comedy show for them. Paul and Mideon were the only ones who weren't laughing, they even told Taker to give Lini a break since he had been on her for an hour hurting her physically and mentally too. During her exercises, she tried not to respond to his provocations when he said "So I thought you weren't weak?", "You should have stayed at home, doing your job as a woman!"; She didn't want to let him into her mind knowing all he wanted was for her to break down.

Someone knocked on the door of Lini's hotel room, Lini goes to open it and didn't have time to say something that Taker allows himself to enter.

"Are you ready? Did you remember what I told you at the shed?" He said as he sat down on the bed, his arms crossed, looking at her spitefully.

"Yes I am, don't ask me. I'm old enough to do what I have to do." She said looking at him nastily too, her arms crossed near the door of her room which is left open. They don't like each other at all and everyone can see it, Lini doesn't like how Taker treats her because she's a woman with a big personality and Taker doesn't like how she treats him when he does the effort to help her even if he didn't want to but he also thinks that the rookie can be a strong element in her Ministry if she lets him help her in his own way.

"Tonight I will kidnap you during your match, be your character but remember: NEVER look down." He said before leaving her room .

"Welcome everyone to wwf Monday night raw is war! I'm Jim Ross accompanied by my colleague and friend Jerry "the king" Lawler!" Jim shouted into his headphones at the commentary, very happy as always to be live. "Hello everyone at home! What an atmosphere here in Chicago!" the King shouted.

Lini is already in wrestling outfit, hair and makeup. She goes to the Ministry locker room to see Vince who is with Taker talking. Vince looks at Lini before saying something to Taker and then walking over to her.

"Ahhh Lini so Taker told me you're already training with the Ministry, how was it?" He asked with a friendly smile, Lini grabbed Vince's arm to lead him out of the locker room for talk in private. "Vince...to be honest I don't think I would be suitable to work with him..." Lini looks at Taker from behind talking to his Ministry in the locker room. "We didn't get along, I have a hot temper and he too, I don't think it's going to work"

Vince listened very intently to Lini, her fears are normal. Taker is a big superstar with really big demands and yes he has a hot temper. Vince put his hands on Lini's shoulders, who gave a sad look and then looked at him with teary eyes. "Look, I know you didn't get along but everything will be fine, he confided in me that he has big plans for you, trust him. He would still have refused if you didn't have potential." He reassured by smiling at her, Lini smiled.

Taker turns to look behind where Vince and Lini are standing wondering what they are talking about. As soon as Vince leaves, she re-enters the Ministry's locker room to listen to what Taker is saying. But quickly notices that the Acolytes and Viscera are not happy.

"...Do you want us to be beaten by....a woman?" Says Bradshaw not very happy that his pride is going to take a hit. "Yes, Alvara needs to be a powerful woman if she have to be in the Ministry," Taker said. "Yeah kinda like you?" Lini said to Taker wondering if she understood correctly. Taker turns to her, he's already in wrestling gear too, his hair down. "Yes rookie, that's why I made you work on your look and everything will evolve when you are in the Ministry next week." Lini raises her eyebrows at hearing the name 'Rookie' from his mouth again.
