Chapter 60: Overreacting

Lini and Mark didn't even look at each other or say a word during the autograph session. People who requested a photo with her and Mark may have sensed there was tension between the two colleagues over their behavior. As soon as they finished they went back to the hotel, Mark went to the gym while Lini stayed with her daughter and Lona who doesn't understand why her father changed his behavior.

For the rest of the afternoon, Lini took the girls to walk the streets of Paris, climb the Eiffel Tower and go shopping. The girls enjoyed this afternoon with Lini, taking pictures together even though they would have liked Mark to come. When they left to go to the arena, Lona waited for her dad but since Mark never came back from the gym, Lini took her with her getting fed up with his behavior.

Arriving at the arena, she could see Mark's car which was parked in the parking lot. or...He must have been here long before we got home from shopping, Lini thought.

The kids get out of the car, going quickly inside while Lini grabs her bag before getting in too. The girls give Paul a big hug as he walks over to Lini, she smiles and walks towards them. "Ah Lini how are you? Taker is waiting for you in your locker room and hurry up, he seems in a bad mood." Said Paul hugging the girls, she nodded and went to the locker room, as soon as she entered the locker room, she saw the Ministry and Taker who was talking to them, he was already dressed in his wrestling outfit . The door closed and everyone looks at Lini, calmly, she goes to a free place to put her things under the cold gaze of Taker. "You're late Rookie..." Taker said looking at her, Lini closing her eyes trying not to get upset when he called her that, he knows she hates it.

The kids come in and give Taker a hug while they are still talking to the Ministry, he doesn't say anything to the girl who still has her arms wrapped around Taker's legs but he starts to get impatient with Lini who is taking her time in the showers to change. "So are you hurrying up or what? I haven't got all night Rookie!" He shouted loud enough for Lini to hear, she came out of the shower in wrestling gear but no makeup, glaring at him. She goes to her bag to get her makeup palette, Taker raises his eyebrows when she ignores him. "You're out of tongue? First of all, you're late and ignore me and give me mean looks? Who do you think you are, Rookie?" Taker yelled under the incomprehensible gaze of the Ministry, Lini got up from her chair fed up with his behavior tried to have a reaction but she chose to ignore him until he calmed down.

She was going to leave the locker room to leave but Taker holds her arm back, he has a cold and mean look, no longer having the strength to pretend with her. "Answer me Rookie!" He said almost screaming, everyone is shocked at Taker's behavior, the girls are almost hidden behind the legs of the acolytes. Lini forcefully pulls her arm out of his hand angrily. "Why should I answer you?! So that we argue in front of everyone?! no thank you!!" She cried before leaving the locker room, leaving Taker in his anger, he lowered his head then looked at his Ministry.

"What are you looking at?!"

Lini went out into the parking lot, to get some fresh air and try not to look angry. She understands that Mark is angry with her but does she deserve so much hate? Of course not, she listened to her heart and was sure that Mark was wrong, that the investigators were wrong. Yes, there are coincidences but it couldn't be Will who did that, you would have to be crazy to do these things. Lini sees a little girl with red hair walking towards her, she recognizes little Lona who looks worried followed closely by her daughter Agnes. "You okay?" Asked Lona sitting next to Lini who is quietly drinking her coffee, Agnes wraps her little arms around her mom. "It's okay girls, don't worry, it'll be okay." She said trying to reassure their hearts.

The house show went by without Mark and Lini speaking once, which made the atmosphere in the Ministry very tense. Lona would have liked so much to go eat with Lini and Agnes but her dad told her no without giving the reason.

Arriving at the hotel, Mark tries to calm down, he is lying on the bed, on his stomach, his head in his arms. Lona has never seen her dad like this, she climbed on the bed, going up to her father's body, lying on her stomach, leaning on her elbows. "Dad..." she called, catching his attention, Mark turned his head to look at his daughter. "Why are you so mad at Lini?" She asked as she rested her head on her small hands looking at her father. "Lini did something that I don't appreciate that's all honey." Said Mark honestly to his daughter before getting out of bed when he heard a knock on the door, probably room service.

Sergeant Rodriguez stayed at the office tonight, he received the bag the runners discovered earlier this morning. The bag is full of dirt, stinks of dog piss that must have peed on the dirt where the bag was. He puts on a pair of gloves accompanied by his sidekick Agent Brown who also puts on a pair of gloves. "Let's see what's in it." Said the sergeant gently opening the khaki bag, they had the impression of discovering a treasure, there was everything they were looking for. The gun, the gloves, the ammo, the keys to the van, the magazines he used for the letters, the instructions for making the bomb and the lever that was used to trigger the bomb, a telephone. A smile of pride can be read on the faces of Sergeant and Officer Brown. "We're finally going to find something concrete. I want all of this to be analyzed." Sergeant Rodriguez ordered with a smile looking at his sidekick.
