Chapter 28: VIP night

When they arrive at the location where Vince's private party is taking place, the place is already packed with photographers. She sees another person that Vip was posing in front of the photographers before entering, she rubs her hands in stress, she is not used to this kind of evening, yes she has already done the officers' ball, the banquet organized by Will's boss but a really big night like this and being with other celebrities is always stressful.

The car stopped and Taker got out of the car and walked to the door where Lini was, he opened it and held out his hand. Lini takes his hand and gets out of the car, she puts her hand around Taker's arm before walking over to where the photographers are, watching them take pictures. Taker is secretly happy to have Lini on his arm tonight, for some time Paul has accompanied him to this kind of evening to preserve the character but he thinks that Lini deserved to be there with him. He places his hand around Lini's waist, the other hand in his pocket.

"Taker! Álvara! look over here!"

She tries to watch all the photographers who call her to look at their cameras for a good shot. They walk towards the entrance and Vince, the host, greets them.

"Lini, I'm glad to see you, you're very beautiful." He said hugging her and shaking Taker's hand. He is surprised that Lini is there, who would have thought that Taker was going to take the Ministry's only woman tonight.

"Thanks boss."

"I'm glad you finally get along."

"Come on, let's find our table." Taker tells Lini, they head to a huge room with white tablecloth tables with dishes. There are different celebrities of all categories, wrestlers of course, singer, politicians, actors... Lini feels like everyone is watching her, looks of judgement, she stays close to Taker still holding his arm as she walks towards their table.

As soon as they find their table, they're with The Rock, Steve Austin, Mankind. The table of great wwf superstars, Lini thought. They seem happy to see her, she met mick foley's wife and dwayne's wife who are also brilliant. As for Austin seems to have come alone, he is not accompanied like all the others. Suddenly, everyone starts cheering as Vince steps onto some sort of podium with a microphone.

"Thank you and welcome like every year to my VIP banquet, I am very happy to see you all and that you have accepted my invitation. Drink, eat, dance, have fun."

Lini feels great, she drinks, eats and has fun like never before. She met lots of celebrities who came to see her to talk, she noticed that there are famous women but they look at her as if she was nothing to them and that is the case. Lini is just a rising star as Taker says but she decided not to care. She goes to the buffet with her glass of champagne and takes a canape with smoked salmon, she is about to turn around but Hulk Hogan puts on his suit and gets sprinkled with champagne.

"Fuck! Be careful!" he shouted at Lini. Drunk and very angry with her for soiling his costume. "I...I'm sorry Hulk, I...didn't see you." Said she starting to stress, blaming herself a lot.

She takes napkins to try and wipe the champagne from Hogan's suit, he snatches the napkins from Lini's hands and wipes himself, gets angry when it doesn't go away.

"Fuck you! A suit for $2000 dollars! Can't you watch where you're going? Who's going to pay me back for my suit, you brat!" He shouted louder, violently throwing the towels on the floor, looking very meanly at Lini. Even wanting to stick one to him. A heavy and firm hand rests on Hogan's shoulder, Taker saw what happened, he came as soon as he felt Hogan get angry.

"Hogan, it's just a suit, you can buy yourself another one. Leave her alone." Said Taker calmly, Lini has tears in her eyes, still trying to help Hogan get the stain out but he doesn't want her to touch him and turns back to Taker.

"But Taker, my suit cost me $2000! You don't have the value for money?" He yelled at Taker. Taker can't stand the smell of alcohol coming from Hogan's mouth, starting to get angry.

"It's a champagne stain, it comes off when you wash it off. Don't make a big fuss or I swear you got my fist in your face!"

Taker doesn't seem to be joking, Lini goes out for some fresh air, wanting to calm down from this incident. Hogan watches her leave very meanly, this bitch who has no talent. He reaches the place where she left. "And besides, what is she doing here? She's one shit among many others! She doesn't deserve to be at this party! Not only does she have no talent and in addition she's clumsy!" Always shouted at Taker who looks at him as if he had insulted him. "Tell it one more time and you got my fits on your face!" Last warning from Taker is the last thing Lini heard before closing the door behind her.

She rubs her arms, looks down, she heard what Hogan said when she left and he's right. Why she's here when it's only been a few months since she proved herself in the wwf. She feels out of place among all these celebrities inside. She feels something land softly on her shoulders, she looks over her shoulder and sees Taker's black blazers resting on her shoulder and Taker behind her.

"I wanted to check if you're okay." Said Taker calmly.

"I'm fine, Taker." She said with a sad smile looking at him.

"Ignore what Hogan just said. He was angry and drunk." He said knowing that she means what he just said.

"But he's right, I shouldn't be here..."

She looked at him with tears in her eyes, Taker cupped her face in his hands, wiping the tears that were streaming down Lini's soft cheeks.

"If you shouldn't have been there, do you think I would have asked you to come? You've been through terrible things, you raised your daughter alone even going to wwf, you proved to everyone who doesn't didn't believe in your talent, that they were wrong, including me. Don't let those SOBs get into your brain, you're better than them." He said while looking her in the eyes, very sincerely, not wanting her to think otherwise. She suddenly hugs Taker for everything he told her, it's true that they didn't really get along at first but hearing Taker say all these things, it makes her feel good.

"Thank you Taker."

"Let's go inside."
