Chapter 46: going out

After taking a shower and getting dressed at the hotel, she puts on a little makeup before putting on perfume. Agnès looks at her mother, already in her pajamas to sleep but her mother seems to be going somewhere. She looks like she's on a date and looks very happy to be going out. "Mom, who are you going out with tonight?" she asked her mother, looking at her with her quilt in her hand. Lini turns off the bathroom light before putting on her shoes. "I'm just going out for a drink with Taker, don't worry, I'll be right back." She reassured her daughter, her mother seems very happy to go out with Taker, she has never seen her mother so happy to go out. "He's going to replace dad?" She asked innocently, Lini looks at her daughter who looks sad, thinking that her mom doesn't love her dad anymore and wants to replace him. She hugs her, resting her head on her daughter's head, rubbing her hand on her arm. "I'm not replacing Dad, Undy is just a friend." She said lying to her and to herself.

On Taker's side, he is about to leave too, looking at himself in the mirror. Lona is already in her pajamas like her father asked her to but she is intrigued by who her father becomes handsome? It's the first time she's seen her daddy getting ready as if he's going on a date. "Dad, are you going out?" She asked her father as she watched him come out of the bathroom. Taker goes to take his sneakers and put them on while sitting next to his daughter. "Yes I'm going out, you'll be with Paul while I'm gone." He said while tying her shoelaces, Lona looks at her daddy trying to read his eyes but her daddy doesn't show any emotion in his eyes. Taker is hesitant to tell her who he is going to go out with but Lona will find out when she goes to Paul's room. He wants to move forward in life not professionally this time. The problem is: will Lona accept?

Lini is waiting for Taker as planned in the hotel lobby after having accompanied her daughter to Paul's room. She doesn't know what Taker has in mind for tonight, maybe a simple drink together? a walk? Strangely, she loves being around him, she feels safe and Agnes gets along very well with Lona and Taker, that makes her so happy. Taker arrived in the lobby of the hotel after having accompanied Lona to Paul's room, he sees Lini from behind waiting for him. Even in ordinary clothes, she is radiant, thought Taker. He walked towards her, gave her a small smile when she turned to him. "Let's go?" He asked, offering her his arm. "I follow you." She said smiling and accepting his arm.

Taker took the wheel to take her to the restaurant, he listened a lot to Agnes when she talked about her mother to Lona and he knew a lot about her. She likes Japanese food a lot, he should have known that when they were at the Japanese store at the airport but hadn't noticed. He is a little anxious about going out with another woman than his late wife, he has to get used to being a gentleman with a woman again. In two years of being a widower, he has never gone out with a woman because he promised himself not to love anyone else because love when you lose it hurts a lot.

When Lini sees Taker park in a Japanese restaurant parking lot that is at least five stories tall, she looks at Taker wondering how he knows she loves Japanese food. "How did you know?" She said smiling, he smiled while parking, put the handbrake. "I have my sources." He said looking at her before getting out of the car. She gets out of the car and takes Taker's arm before entering the restaurant, getting hungry. "Good evening, sir, madam, do you have reservations?" Asked the waiter smiling. "Yes, for two in Calaway's name." Said Taker calmly. "Ah yes sir Calaway, this way, please." Said the waiter going to the left, Taker and Lini follow him but Lini is puzzled when they go to the elevator and press button 5.

When the elevator gets to the fifth floor, the doors open and follows the waiter. server to a table near large windows. Lini looks around, impressed how beautiful it is and the view of the city with the street lights makes the view magnificent with the stars shining brightly in the sky. "And here is your table." Said the waiter smiling. "Thanks" Taker said to the waiter before he left to take care of another customer. Lini and Taker sit quietly, Lini puts the towel in her lap looking at the view still impressing by it. "You know how to take a woman out" She said smiling finally looking at Taker who has his elbows on the table rubbing his hands looking at her. "Still, I haven't been dating a woman for a long time." He said calmly looking at her, she smiled sadly understanding what he meant. "It feels good to go out without the kids too." He added, taking the card in his hands, smiling. "It's true" She said with a laugh taking the card also looking at each page, thinking about what she would like to eat.
