Chapter 14: Battle

"We're back on the air, I'm Jim Ross with Larry 'the King' Lawler on comment." Jim shouted into his headset. "What an atmosphere here in Los Angeles, California! Always a pleasure to be here!" King shouted. The giant screen shows a dark room, chains are attached all over the room, smoke and dark music echoes through the room. "Oh my god...Alvara ..." King said when the camera showed Alvara tied up, tired, trying to get out of her chains. "Someone has to help her.." Jim said into his headset.

Lini is watching TV from the hallway, rubbing her arms, still trying to calm down. She hopes Taker knows what he's doing, fans are shocked at Alvara's condition when she was tied up. She looked at Taker who had his back to her and was talking to the ministry. She's also stressed for her new style, what if people don't like it? She looks at the next match which starts. She feels hands resting on her shoulders, she turns around and sees Paul who gives her a smile of encouragement. "It'll be fine, don't worry trust him." he said.

After a match and a segment, the giant screen still shows Alvara still tied up high but here she is tired of fighting, she is mentally broken, we can see Mideon arriving there, untying her and carrying her like a potato sack and go away. "Where is he taking her? What did he do to Alvara?" Said Jim shouting into his helmet.

They are near the curtain leading to the ring, waiting for their moment, Lini inhales and exhales closing her eyes trying to concentrate. "Are you ready rookie? Tonight, we'll see if you're worth working with me." Says Taker as his music echoes around the arena, the fans chant. Taker walks through the curtains as well as the entire Ministry, she gets a naughty shoulder from Bradshaw in the process. She clenches her fist, feels ready to show what she is able to and finally crosses the curtains.

Undertaker and his Ministry walk to the ring, the camera zooms in on Taker who is in his full black robe and zooms in on Alvara, the Ministry's new recruit. "Good God, Alvara, what did he do to you?" King wondered if he saw her darker than usual. "Her eyes are purple, he bewitched her?" Jim wondered. Alvara slowly walks up the stairs to the ring, staring intimidatingly at the fans, unsmiling as if she's lost her soul. Taker stands next to Alvara who has her arms crossed with an intimidating gaze as Paul arrives with a microphone next to Taker.

"As I said a few weeks ago, I would put my Ministry on top of the company. I would be the wwf champion and then..." Taker said looking at Alvara who was looking at him in turn, he smiled mischievously at the camera. "Chyna, you will also lose your title of female champion, Alvara will destroy you slowly." He said as a warning. Everyone gives Taker a standing ovation but booed when the Corporation music hits.  Chyna the wwf women's champion and triple h the wwf champion arrived with the rest of the company.

"Do you think you'll be champion? that your new recruit will be able to beat Chyna? Let me remind you that Chyna only lost once to Alvara and the second time you stepped in! Listen, let's do something, a battle royal Corporation vs Ministry. the last member of one of the two groups still standing in the ring. You and Alvara will be Challenger N°1!" Says Triple H. All the fans are cheering for the crazy match that is going to happen, Taker looks at Alvara and his Ministry, confident that they will fight until exhaustion. "I accept, prepare to your loss."

Lini is in the halls watching the matches on TV when her phone rang, it was the house number. She picked up. "hello" She says.

"Hi Lini it's Will, how are you?"

"It's better than this morning and you?"

"I'm fine, I have a proposition for you. Since Josh's killer is still hanging around and threatening you, you can still live in my apartment with Agnes. What do you say?"

Lini looks behind her and her eyes are on Taker talking with the rest of the Ministry. To be honest, she doesn't know if she should leave or not, she has all the memories she had with Josh in that house. "Do...I...I don't know...I don't know if I should go..." she said with tears in her eyes.

"Lini, you are in danger and Agnes will be too, don't you want whoever killed Josh to kill your daughter too?"

Lini closed her eyes, turns around when tears run down her cheeks, he's right. If the person wants to kill her, Agnès will be in danger too, he killed a policeman in cold blood, he could very well kill a little girl. "Could you accommodate me with Agnès in your apartment?" She finally asked after a few seconds.

"I'll manage, don't worry. I want to protect you and Agnes." Will assured.

Taker turns to talk to Lini but sees she's on the phone, he tells Paul to wait and goes to Lini. She doesn't know what would be best for her daughter. She has known Will for a long time but she knows that Will's apartment is small and then the murderer could be just as dangerous, she doesn't want to lose him if he comes between the killer and her.

"I...I'll think about it..." she said before hanging up, taking a deep breath, wiping her eyes, paying attention to her makeup. She was going to join Taker but realized that Taker was already behind her, his hands behind his back.

"What are you going to think about?

He asked; having heard the last thing she said on the phone, still wanting to know what's wrong with her since this morning.

"Nothing." She said dryly, still not trusting him before leaving to join the rest of the Ministry. Taker watches her go, sighs in annoyance, he knows the rookie has a hot temper and finds it hard to trust her but he tries to make an effort and she still doesn't see.
