Chapter 36: A worry Taker

After an afternoon at the pool, Taker and the girls get ready to go to the shed. Taker is aware that Lini has gone to get some things at her house and she is going to join them there. Taker helps Lona put on her shoes who is sitting on the sofa, her hands clasped waiting. "Dad?" She finally said looking at her dad who looked up at her wondering what she wanted. "Do you think Lini and Agnes will stay here long?" She asked, she doesn't want them to leave, since they've been here, Lona has been having fun and then it's helped to reconnect with her father too. She is afraid that if they leave, everything will go back to how it was. "I don't know, it's all up to them honestly." He said honestly. Deep down, he doesn't want them to leave.

Arrived in the shed , he noticed that Lini has not arrived yet and it is worrying, she has never been late for a single training. The kids meanwhile are happy to be here, the famous shed where the Ministry train, they sit quietly on the bench while the Ministry train. the more the minutes pass, the more Taker is worried that Lini is still not there, each time the door opens, he hoped it was Lini but no. At each break in his exercise series, he tries to call her to reassure himself that she is fine but no answer.

He was tired of sitting here, doing nothing when Lini might be in danger. A car accident? he thought. The moment he decided to go see what was going on was when he thought that the killer of his wife and son and the killer of her husband must have hurt Lini.

He hurries to grab his sports bag and walks over to Paul, half running. "Take care of the kids, I be right back." He said to his manager as he hurried to the door, not having given Paul time to say anything. He runs to his car door before turning on the engine.

"I'm coming Lini"

Screams, movement, faint glow, her ears ringing from the explosion, feeling her heart pounding in stress, she opens her eyes but her vision is blurry seeing there is fire, people around her. She could hear the sirens of the arriving ambulance and fire department in the distance, as well as the police. She doesn't know what's going on, she was leaving her house with Will when suddenly, Will took her in his arms before jumping out of the patio of her house and the house exploded.

The paramedics try to put her on the stretcher without hurting her, the oxygen mask on her face, the only female paramedic tries to reassure Lini as much as possible. She feels commotion next to her, two paramedics blocking someone who wanted to see how she was doing. She could hear the man yelling at the paramedics holding him down. "let me see her!" "What has happened?!". She could also hear the paramedics telling the man to calm down, that she will be fine but the man does not calm down.

Taker watches the ambulance leave with Lini in it and then watches the house burn as firefighters try to put out the flames. He could hear the neighbors who saw what happened giving their testimonies to the police before getting into his car and driving off at full speed to follow the ambulance.

Arriving at the hospital, Taker wanted to follow Lini's stretcher, not wanting to leave her but he was not allowed to pass. Lini needed a major operation on her right leg to remove all the pieces of splinters that had become embedded in Lini's skin and especially to remove the piece of wood from her leg.

Taker waited patiently in the waiting room, head bowed, elbows resting on knees, hands clutching a cup of coffee to stay awake. He is angry with himself, if he had accompanied Lini, she would not be in this state."Sir, are you here for Miss McClay?" Asked the doctor who has a white coat, pens in his jacket pocket, glasses on his nose. Taker stands up walking towards the doctor who appears to have had a seizure of stress when the giant walked towards him.

"How is she?" Asked Taker in a calm but serious voice, the doctor cleared his throat before reading his documents concerning Lini. "Well, the results of the blood tests are good but she had minor injuries as well as a fairly serious injury to her right thigh. The piece of wood damaged the muscle in her thigh, she won't be allowed to work for a few weeks." The doctor told Taker trying to be as clear as possible. Taker is sad for Lini who will have to give up wrestling for a while so giving up her match on Sunday, she had worked hard to get there and now it's all falling apart because of that motherfucker who tried to kill Lini.

Taker walks over to the room where Lini is, opens the door and sees her sleeping. He gently closes the door behind him, takes a chair to sit next to her. He looks at her hand and runs his hand through hers gently, watching her sleep.

His thoughts are making him more and more angry, the thought of the murderer of his wife and son just nearby drives him mad. Why is he doing all this? what does he have against her? Why her? he wondered. He may know who it is but no one sees it except him. This fucking Will, the so called best friend but without proof he can't prove anything that's what drives him crazy.
