Chapter 49: Have you or not?

Lini and Agnes prepared to go out to eat while waiting for Will to come pick them up. Someone knocks at the door and it's Will who has just arrived. Agnès is very happy to see her uncle again after a long time without seeing him. Will is very happy to see them both again and is looking forward to having a good time with the girls.

Lini puts Agnes in Will's car before closing the front door but sees that Taker's car is parking. She went to check on him but Taker abruptly gets out of the car, angrily heading towards Will's car. "Get out of your car!" Taker shouted, banging on the car window. "What are you doing here! How long are you going to follow us?! I'm going to beat you, asshole! Get out!" Taker shouted, unable to calm down, Lini walked towards Taker, grabbing his arm, forcing him back.

"Stop Taker! Agnes is here! You're going to scare her!" She cried trying to calm him down but impossible, Lona looks at her dad with fear in Paul's arms who takes her home. "Why the fuck is he here?!" he asked shouting at Lini, looking at her but Lini refused to let himself be yelled at. "First, calm down! and Will just came to pick me and Agnes up for a bite to eat!" She screamed, Taker couldn't believe his ears, he punched the hood of Will's car, making a dent in it. "You wanted to tell me when?! Need I remind you that this guy you trust is dangerous!Are you fucking blind?!" He shouted, pointing to Will who was in the car and refusing to get out of the car. "That's your opinion! Not mine! Now, if you don't mind, I'm leaving!" She shouted before heading to the passenger side before Will started the car leaving an angry Taker outside the house. Lini looked in the side mirror and saw Taker watching them leave, tears streaming down her cheeks, not liking arguing with him.

They arrive at the restaurant, head to their table indicated by the waiter, Lini is still in her thoughts, she should never have told Will to come get her. She feels a hand on hers and it's Will's hand looking at her, smiling. "Come on, it's okay Lini, don't worry." » He said, giving her a comforting smile before having lunch at three o'clock like before. "I...I'm sorry for his behavior...he...he.." She tried to speak but Will stopped her by kissing her hand. "I don't care about his behavior, stop thinking about it." He said smiling at her, Agnes looked at them with stars in her eyes seeing that her mother was so loved by Uncle Will.

After lunch, they decide to go to a baseball game, the game was between the Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox. Agnes and Will are having fun and cheering for the Texas team while Lini sits quietly, still thinking about Taker even though she tries to smile and have fun.

The clock is ticking and Lini has not returned, Paul calmly serves Lona's snack before looking at Taker who is still outside, in front of the door. He knocked on the window to get Taker's attention as he still looked at him with a cold stare, he shouted loud enough for him to hear. "Come and eat something!" Paul shouted out the window, Taker goes to eat reluctantly, not having eaten this afternoon, goes to the kitchen then looks in the fridge. "Dad?" » asked Lona softly. He looked at her trying not to look upset but his eyes never lied. "Who was the man in the car?" » she asked her father while eating Paul's cookies. Taker had bought some yogurt and a spoon before settling down next to his daughter. "He's a dangerous person, I forbid you from talking about him to Lini or anyone else. Have I made myself understood?" » He asked looking at her, Lona nodded towards her drink. "But Lini and Agnès are friends with this man? she asked, not understanding why her father had said he was dangerous when they left with him. "Lini refuses to see that he's dangerous that's all. don't worry, let daddy take care of him" He said looking at her, Lona nodded before eating the rest of her snack.

"Dad? Do you have any video memories of Mom and Calvin? I...I would like to hear their voices..."

At the end of the day, Will accompanies Lini and Agnès to Taker's, they spent a good day together like the good old days. Lini hugs Agnes while she sleeps, tired from her day. Will walks Lini to the door seeing that Taker wasn't there. "Will..." Lini turned to Will, wanting to clear a doubt in his head. "Get in my face...you had nothing to do with Josh's death?" » She asked looking into his eyes, wanting to be sure Taker was wrong. She's been thinking about what Taker said since this morning. Will looks into her eyes, trying to be as sincere as possible. "I had nothing to do with this, I promise." » He said sincerely, before kissing her on the forehead. She smiled, trusting him completely before opening the door. "See you soon Will." » She said smiling at him before closing the door behind her.

She always has Agnès in her arms when she sees that the house is quiet, not a sound, neither downstairs nor upstairs. However, Taker's car is still parked in front of the house and the door was open and unlocked. "Taker? Lona? Paul?" Shouted softly hoping someone would answer but no one answered. She goes upstairs, checks the different rooms but no one sees a ladder leading to the attic and any light coming from there either. She puts Agnes in bed to sleep before climbing the ladder.

She could see Taker, from behind, sitting on an old couch, watching an old TV. She approaches slowly and little by little sees Lona sleeping in Taker's arms, she looks at Taker who has also fallen asleep. "...Is it on?" "Yes it works." Lini looked at the television, seeing that it was a recording of Taker's wife and Taker himself at the birth of the children. They fell asleep watching their video memories of Lona's mother and her brother. Lini watches TV with a sad smile, losing a loved one is hard enough but losing two in the same night must have been heartbreaking.
