Sitting across from Charlie, waiting on Bella. Dad sipped on his coffee, looking at me curiously. Sensing his glare on me as I looked down at my hot chocolate, I shot my head up at him. Raising an eyebrow.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I questioned.

"You and Jacob." Charlie begun, making me sigh heavily as I slid down in my seat. "You two have always been close-."

"Dad? He's my friend, ok." I said in a stern voice, he put his hands up in surrender as Bella walked through the door. Looking over to my sister, she smiled at us as she saw the awkward tension.

"What's going on here?" Bella laughed.

"Dad thinks that Jake and I should be a thing, not to snitch on my bestie. But he definitely has a thing for Bella." I leant back in my seat.

"Enough, enough." Dad begun as he placed his newspaper down, with the food arriving. Bella looked at my plate and smiled, seeing I was eating healthy. She looked to dad and saw him eating a burger.

"Thought you were going to try and get him to eat healthier?" Bella looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"He's been eating better, he usually eats crappy when he's stressed." I explained as I stabbed my fork into my crispy chicken.

"So, you and Jake?" Bella laughed.

"Stop!" I slammed my hand on the table, making Bella laugh more. Dad looked out the window, spotting a bunch of kids from Bella's year.

"Hey, Bell. Why don't you hang out with your friends? It'll be good for you and maybe you can take Hope with you, get her to meet some new people." Dad threw out a suggestion.

"What's wrong with my friends?" I complained.

"Nothing, might be good for you to hang out with other girls. Nothing wrong with the boys." I raised an eyebrow at my father, who took a long and heavy sigh.

"I think they would be a little bit to much for Hope to handle." Bella gave me a playful shove. Sighing heavily, I looked down at my plate as I fiddled with the lettuce leaves. My mind wondered with thoughts, maybe Jake and I could be a thing?.. no hope. He's your best friend.
