Soft spots are real, you know. They make your world become whole, the sight of them in pain, literally shatters you to your core. Sitting at the kitchen bench, as I watched my father rush around the kitchen like a mad man. Clanging and banging was the only thing you could hear.
"Dad?" I spoke up.
"Yeah, Hope?" He replied with his head in a cupboard.
"Whatcha doing?" I questioned as I leant forward in my seat.
"Making you something, I am sure you're starving." He said as he grabbed out a pan, placing it on the stove top. I huffed a small laugh to myself, watching him be frantic. It was adorable.
"See, I'm peaking through more. Let me out fully, Charlie needs us. We are his world, his rock. Look at the stage he is in, frantic." My other self said across the room, flipping her off without Dad knowing. I aimed my attention back on Charlie.
"You never cook, most you cook is eggs on toast." I smiled at him. "I'm ok, I'm not hungry." I reassured him, as he placed the toast down. He sighed heavily as he turned to face me, watching him lean against the kitchen counter. He took a second to observe my appearance.
"You're so beautiful, I am so glad I didn't stop pushing for you to come home." He begun as he slowly walked over to me, as Eric joined my side. Eric rested his arms on the bench beside me.
"He seems like a good dad." He gave me a small nudge.
"What do you mean?" I questioned him, narrowing my eyebrows in confusion. "Were you going to give up on me?"
"No no no." He shook his head as he rushed over, he held my hands in his. "What I was saying was, what I meant... the world, I need hope. I need you, that is why I kept fighting. That's why you're still here." He explained as he cupped my face with his hands, he kissed my forehead as he headed to grab his keys. "I'll get us some takeaway, wanna come?" He asked as he opened the door to head to the car.
"Nah, I'm alright. I might have a shower... if that's ok?" I questioned as I stood up, with my hands in my back pockets.
"Of course sweetie, I'll see you when I get back." He smiled as he closed the door, sighing heavily, my annoying self stood beside me. With folded arms.
"You're crumbling, you're not big and bad as you say you are. Let me out, Charlie is all we need. The duo of a lifetime like the good old days." She batted her eyelids as I rolled my eyes.
"Don't listen to her, we can set this up the perfect way where Charlie will never get hurt again." Eric promised as I turned around to face him. "Are you ready to cause some chaos?" He questioned as he raised his eyebrow with a cheeky smirk.
"What do you have in mind?" I smiled back as I looked up at him.
"It starts with the Cullen family."
"I'm in."
