This was it, the fight of the newborns versing whatever our strange combination is. Jacob and I arriving, we made our way over to Bella and Edward. Hearing the ending of a conversation, as we walked past a few large shrubs.
"Who's head is unclear?" Jacob asked as we joined the happy couple.
"Nobody's, I hope." Bella replied, taking a step back from Edward.
"Alice says there is a storm coming." Edward warned us.
"Yeah, we can feel it." I notified him, squinting at him. Knowing something was up, trying to see into his mind was tricky. He was blocking me. "We should get going." I looked at my sister.
"I'll see you in a couple of ours." Edward walked towards Bella, placing kisses on her forehead. Jacob and I could both feel the tension.
"Something up?" Jacob and I asked in unison, glancing at each other. We looked back at Bella.
"Bunch of vampires trying to kill me." Bella smiled, as she walked to Jacob. Jacob huffed a small laugh as he picked her up bridal style.
"Same old same old." Jacob said as he smiled at me, giving me a wink. We took off along the path we took yesterday, Jacob running with Bella in his arms. I ran behind them, making sure that Bella's scent would be masked as well as my more human scent. Feeling parts of the air drop in temperature, I picked up my speed to keep myself warm. Unfortunately not inheriting the warmth gene, we climbed to a lip in the mountain where Edward set up camp and brought Bella and my stuff up. Things as sleeping bags, blankets and heat.
Jacob placing Bella down as she headed over to Edward for an embrace, Jacob turned around as I finally catch up. Offering me his hand, he pulled me up the last bit. "Thanks guys." Edward nodded at us, we gave a nod back.
"You guys should head back before the storm hits." Bella added.
"Nah, we're staying." Jacob announced to her. "You'll need my connection to the pack to keep tags on what's going on and Hopes magic we keep us secure."
"So, you guys are not going to fight?" Bella questioned, with a slight amount of relief being displayed on her face.
"Seth will be here in the morning, he's not happy about missing the action. But it'll keep him out of trouble." I explained.
"Let's get you inside." Edward said softly, taking her to the tent. I sighed heavily as I turned to Jacob, giving him the look he knows oh too well. The face of cheekiness.
"Don't give me the face." He laughed, swinging his arm over my shoulders. Pulling me along to the tent. "Come on, we should get you in the tent too. You're not as hot as me." He giggled as I nudged him playfully.
Come night fall, Jacob scoped the area as Bella and I got ourselves organised in the care of Edward. Watching my sister freeze, I whispered as I aimed my hands towards her. Watching as she warmed up and her teeth stopped chattering, she smiled as I focused my hearing onto her and not the wind outside from the storm trying to take the tent down. "Thank you." Both her and Edward said.
"Aren't you going to warm yourself up?" Edward asked as I laid down in my sleeping bag, smelling the rich soil under the tent. I sneezed as I shook my head.
"No spell I have found to warm myself up, I don't have the gene of being naturally warm like Jake." I explained, as my teeth begun to chatter. "I'll be ok."
"What can I do?" Edward questioned, wanting to be helpful.
"I'll be fine, thank you Edward." I replied, hearing the wind pick up outside. Sounds like thousands of horses running and knocking the tent, I flinched as the sound hurt my ears. Looking over to my sister who had already fallen asleep, peacefully. The zipper of the tent opened, as Jacob came in.
