Bella's return from her disappearing after Edward spiked some tension inside the household. Watching my father sit there with stress and tension, whether or not knowing his daughter was going to return. Watching my best friend break himself from the inside, someone he has so called 'fallen in love' with, rip his heart in two.Standing with Jacob in the middle of the road, as I put up a protection shield. Just in case Edward and Bella didn't stop in time, I sighed heavily. Knowing the discussion to follow with my sister and her boyfriend, the forest smell after the recent rain was rich. Holding my breath, as we watched Edward slam on his breaks. Jacob warned me that Edward could read minds. Jacob taking my hand, we jogged off to a clearing in the woods. Not far off from the road. Watching Bella and Edward walk towards us, I sat on a fallen mossy tree trunk as Jacob stood on it beside me.
"I see you're still alive, for now." I commented to my sister.
"She thinks this is why I have been keeping you away." Edward said to my sister.
"You keep out of my head." I spat at him.
"Jacob, Hope. I know you two have something to say to me." Edward begun as he walked towards us. "But I would like to say something to the both of you first, if that's alright." Jacob and I both looked at him sternly, saying in my head fine. Edward sighed. "Thank you. Thank you two for keeping Bella alive, when I didn't."
"No." Jacob and I looked between each other. "You didn't. It wasn't for your benefit, trust me." Jacob finished.
"I'm still grateful. But I'm here now, I'm not going to leave her side. Until she orders me away." Edward looked between Jacob and I, feeling his tension was more towards me. Jacob offered me a hand, pulling me up to my feet. There was silence, until I spoke up as I brushed myself off.
"Hey, my turn to talk." I jumped down from the tree trunk, Jacob following closely behind. Edward froze. "We are here to remind you of a key point in the trite and the new law of the Tribrid." I folded my arms.
"I haven't forgotten." Edward looked at me with gentle eyes, trying to show he wasn't a threat.
"What key point and what new Tribrid?" Bella questioned. I looked to Jacob to explain.
"If any of them, bites a human. The truce is over, the one of them who bites the human. Will become Hopes first kill, to activate her werewolf side." Hope looked to me shocked.
"What if I choose it? It doesn't have anything to do with either of you." Bella shook her head.
"No, I won't let you!" Jacob rose his voice, taking a step towards her. I latched my hand around his wrist, he looked over his shoulder at me. Giving me a glare, he sighed as he looked back towards Bella. "I won't let you become one of them, Bella."
"It's not up to you." Bella said gently.
"Bella, you know what we will do to you. I won't have a choice, your sister won't have a choice." Jacobs voice raised once again.
"Bella, please come." Edward begged.
"Go." I mouthed to her.
"Wait." Bella turned to Edward, my hand still tight around Jacobs wrist.
"Is he going to hurt me, is she going to hurt me? Read their mind." Edward giving off a small signal to bell, she sighed as she walked over to Jake and I. "Hope, Jake. I love you, both. So please, don't make me choose. Cause it'll be him, it's always been him." Feeling Jacobs emotion through touch, I felt him break again inside him. His anger starting to kick in, I whispered.
"Imitantor Pupulus." Walking away, Jacob followed along easily. Without resistance, I subconsciously knew that he knew I spelled him. Walking off into the forest, I looked over my shoulder as I stared down both my sister and Edward. Listening in to Edwards him through his gift.
"She has crazy control, she wants me dead. I am sure of it."
"You should've let me go at him." Jacob growled, shifting into his wolf form. He let me climb up to his back.
"You know that wouldn't be a good plan, you're welcome." With a huff of a wolf response, I gripped into Jacobs warm rusty brown fur as he took off full speed back to his house. Feeling the power of him under neath me, I sighed in harmony with his heart rate.
