Go Straight For You

"Hey Dazai, are you busy tonight?"
"No, why?"
"There's someone that wants to meet you and Ango. Can you come to Lupin?"
"Usual time?"
"Yeah. See you then."
Once the friends hang up Dazai was curious who he's gonna meet.

Come 2 am Dazai walks into the bar and smiles at his friends.
"Ango, Oda."
"Hey Dazai," Ango greets.
"So who is this mysterious person that wants to meet?"
A (h/c) woman walks over and smiles. "Hi Osa, Ango."
"Is she another orphan you're looking after?" The government official asks.
"No. I'm (Y/n) Odasaku, his younger sister."
Dazai looks between the two. "Why have you been hiding such a beauty from me Oda?"
"Because he knew you'd hit on me then ask to commit a double suicide." (Y/n) responds.
The older mafioso sighs but nods.
"I feel offended. I wouldn't ask that of her. She has too much to live for. I'm sure she'll find a nice guy, settle down blah blah blah."
"What if I like girls?" (Y/n) pipes in, arms crossed.
Dazai holds up his hands. "No judgment."

The girl laughs and shakes her head. "I'm just joking. I like guys. But I think having a brother in the Port Mafia has scared away all the guys I like."
Glasses boy scoffs and nods. "We lead dangerous lives. Your best chance at a nice life is to leave the city or country."
(Y/n) watches Ango drink his tomato juice. She sits on the bar and rests her feet on her brother's thighs.

Over the years Dazai opened himself to Oda and his sister.
He didn't know why but he started having feelings for the (h/c). The teen finally confided in his best friend.
"Dazai you've been acting strange. What's up?"
"I want to ask (Y/n) out." Dazai confesses.
This took the man by surprise.
"You like my sister?"
"All I know is that I love being around her. Sometimes she makes me not want to die. I find myself looking forward to going to Lupin, more for her than you or Ango."
"Dazai, she deserves a good man. Maybe if you left the Mafia. I know you don't care about good and bad but I need to know she's safe and taken care of. She isn't safe with a Mafia executive"
The brunette sighs but nods. "You're right."

Oda smiles softly. He's planted the seeds.
He wished he could've been around to see his best friend leave the Mafia and become a better man.
But of course Oda being Oda was happy that his death sparked the change.

"(Y/n)..." Dazai trails off as he walks over to his crush.
"What do you want, Osa?"
"Oda left you in my care. He told me if I left the Mafia I could have his blessing to ask you out. I made Oda a promise to be a better person. So I will leave the Port Mafia if you'll be my girlfriend."
"You mean your suicide partner?"
"No. I mean my life partner. I can't promise I won't ever attempt again. But I wanna be with you. I have for a long time. You make life beautiful and fun and worth living. I need to stay on the DL for a while but I need to know, will you join me?"
(Y/n) shakes her head as tears stream down her cheeks. "Saku..."
"I know it's hard. He was my reason for living. Now that he's gone, you're all I have left. I will be there for you and you can...be there for me. It'll be a few years before I can show my face in Yokohama. I can be your househusband. Then when I'm in the clear you can stop working and be my housewife."

"You paint a perfect picture Osa. Do you really think I could like you back though?"
Dazai looks away, his expression turns stoic. "I don't expect you to. I'm just your brother's best friend."
Her laugh catches him by surprise.
"I'm just kidding Osa. I'd love to be yours. Saku said I couldn't date you until you went straight. So will you go good for me?"
"For you I would do anything. You're my little mystery after all."
(Y/n) walks over to him and kisses him gently.
