"Are you going to tell your father about us some time soon? I'm not trying to pressure you to come out or anything I'm just curious."
"I plan to at dinner tonight. You will come won't you? I want him to meet you right and maybe things will go better if someone else is present." (Y/n) holds her girlfriend's hand and squeezes.
The said girl smiles and kisses her cheek.
"Thank you Rika."
"I love you (Y/n) and I want you to be safe. So if you don't think you'll be ok telling him you don't have to."
"I don't know how he'll react but I don't think he'll hurt me or anything."
Rika sighs but nods. "Ok then. Text me a time and I'll head over."
(Y/n) nods and kisses her girlfriend before she leaves.

Dazai comes home and smiles. "Little mystery I'm home~ Are you here?"
"Yes I'm home. Dinner is almost ready. Why don't you clean up for our guest."
"We have a guest tonight? It better not be a boyfriend. I refuse to-"
"I don't have a boyfriend papa. Calm down and go shower." (Y/n) calls from the kitchen.
Dazai sighs in relief and walks to the bathroom.
A couple minutes later Rika walks in and takes off her shoes.
"I'm here." She calls and walks into the kitchen.
(Y/n) smiles and kisses her cheek. "Welcome. He's in the shower right now but should be out soon."
"I'll help set the table then."

Soon enough Dazai comes out and stops in his tracks.
"Oh hello. Who are you?"
"My name is Rika."
"This is our guest. She's my best friend."
Rika smiles at (Y/n).
"Oh wonderful! She's never brought over a friend. I was afraid she didn't have any."
(Y/n) laughs nervously. "Well dinner is done."
"Perfect. Thank you little mystery." He kisses her head and walks to the kitchen.
The three get food and sit at the table.

"How long have you guys been friends?"
Rika looks at (Y/n).
"A few years now. We met at the market one morning while I was getting us veggies."
Rika laughs softly. "Yeah. I was getting carrots and she was grabbing broccoli."
Dazai smiles and looks at his daughter. "Nice meet cute."
(Y/n) smiles from her father to girlfriend.
Thankfully dinner goes by smoothly and comfortably.
Then Rika looks at (Y/n) expectantly.

(Y/n) frowns but nods.
"What's wrong?" Dazai inquires, looking between the girls.
"Well um..." (Y/n) trails off and smiles. "Rika isn't just my best friend. She's my girlfriend."
Rika smiles and holds (Y/n)'s hand.
"Oh! Girlfriend..." Dazai looks at their hands then into his daughter's eyes. "How long?"
"About a year and a half now."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
The girl frowns and looks away.
"Did you think I would-"
"No! I just..." She trails off again.

"I wanted to make sure she would be safe telling you. Plus we wanted to make sure we were a serious thing before saying anything." Rika pipes up and looks at the father with a serious expression.
Dazai turns to the guest. "I would never hurt my daughter. No matter what. And her having a girlfriend doesn't change anything."
"I love your daughter and she means everything to me. You don't have to worry about my intentions."
The brunette sighs softly and laces his fingers on his lap. "I'm glad you let us have dinner and talk before telling me. I got to know you a bit and I like you. I can see why my daughter fell for you."
Rika blushes and looks down.

(Y/n) smiles, standing up and hugs her father.
Dazai hugs back.
"I love you papa. Thank you for accepting me, me and Rika."
"You're welcome little mystery. Have you come out to anyone else?"
"Most of the agency knows, obviously Doppo was the first to find out."
"Kunikida knows?! Why didn't he tell me? How did he-"
"I asked him not to say anything, especially to you."
"Outing someone before they're ready is a dick move. Plus it's dangerous," Rika comments.

Once Rika leaves Dazai sits on the arm of the couch.
(Y/n) walks over and frowns. "Are you mad I didn't tell you earlier?"
"I'm not mad little mystery. I love you. I'm glad you finally had the courage to tell me. You're safe here I promise. But um...are you only into girls or?"
"Lesbian for sure. At first I wasn't sure but I can confirm now."
The father nods and holds her hand. "Ok. You can invite her for dinner whenever you want. I wanna get to know her better."
"Cool. I'm gonna head to bed now though. I got school in the morning and I definitely need sleep."
Dazai laughs but nods. "Wouldn't want you to be grouchy in front of your girlfriend."
(Y/n) blushes but smiles. "Good night papa."
