I Was Never Ashamed

"Do you think he'll find out about us soon? Or are you gonna tell him?"
"Fuck no I ain't telling him. He'll tease me and be weird. I don't want that. I wanna enjoy a nice, quiet relationship with you."
"What about him figuring it out?"
"He thinks I'm straight. I'm also pretty sure he thinks it's impossible for me to get a girlfriend."
"Oh I see."
"Yeah. So Osa will not know I have a boyfriend." (Yn) smiles and squeezes his boyfriend's hand.

Kunikida sighs as he walks down the street with his partner. "Dazai don't you think you should ask him before you jump to conclusions?"
"Nah, I know my own brother. He won't tell me he's in a relationship because he's ashamed. He probably thinks being gay is a crime or something."
The blonde pushes up his glasses. "I still think you need to talk it out."
Dazai shrugs and puts his hands in his pockets.
Although as the two keep walking they stumble upon the said boy.

Dazai smiles widely and runs to his brother. "(Y/n)!" He cheers, jumping onto the (h/c)'s back.
The said boy gasps in surprise. "Osa! What are you doing here?"
"Me and Kunikida were just passing by when I saw you."
(Y/n) looks at his boyfriend.
"So this is the boyfriend you've been keeping secret."
(Y/n) and his boyfriend both go wide eyed.
"How did you know?"
"I'm not an idiot. I've known you had a boyfriend for a long time. I thought you weren't telling me because you're ashamed."
"Wait what? Ashamed?"
"Yeah, ashamed, because it's like bad or whatever."

"Hell no! I ain't ashamed of anything. I'm openly gay. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to overreact or tease me to death! I never once thought you would judge me, especially considering Chuuya is your ex and Doppo is your current boyfriend."
"Excuse me? I would never date Dazai. Even if I did swing that way. No, I am straight (Y/n)."
"Oh sorry about that Doppo." The (h/c) mumbles.
"And Chuuya is not my ex." Dazai adds, crossing his arms.
"Wait really? Was I wrong then? Are you actually straight?"
"This isn't about me. This is about you thinking I would overreact and tease you."
"I know you Osa. That's exactly what you'd do."

Dazai groans and rubs his nape. "I can't believe this."
"I can. I told you that communication is key but you didn't believe me." Kunikida mumbles and crosses his arms.
(Y/n) sighs and squeezes his boyfriend's hand.
"I love you." The said boy whispers and smiles.
(Y/n) returns the smile.
"I think we should have dinner tonight. I wanna hear about you and your relationship."
While (Y/n) groans and whines his boyfriend agrees and smiles.

Kunikida makes sure Dazai finishes his work before he could go home.
When the brunette bursts in (Y/n) and his boyfriend are making out on the couch.
Dazai was shocked at first but opens his mouth to speak, only to get cut off.
"If you say anything I will leave and never come back. No teasing whatsoever, got it?"
The agent frowns but holds up his hands. "Serious brother mode activated."
They settle down for dinner and have a nice, respectful conversation.
(Y/n) was a bit shocked to see this side of his brother.

After dinner (Y/n) kisses his boyfriend before he leaves.
Dazai finishes cleaning up the table and starts the dishes when (Y/n) walks into the kitchen.
"I like him. You're so happy with him. It's refreshing." Dazai mumbles softly.
"I um...I'm sorry Osa. I should've been mature and told you anyways, despite what I thought might happen."
"I'm mad at myself for thinking you would be ashamed of yourself. You're strong and smart."
"Thank you for being supportive, it means a lot. As long as you promise not to tease me I'll be more honest about us."
"Deal."
(Y/n) hugs his brother tightly.
