You're Still A Woman In My Eyes

(Y/n) listens as the doctor speaks and answers questions when asked.
The man sighs but smiles. "You're doing great. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The journey is almost done."
"Thank you doctor. I'm glad I've had you."
"What about that new boyfriend of yours?"
"I haven't said anything to him. He thinks I was born a woman."
"Is that what you want?"
(Y/n) shrugs. "I don't know how he'd respond otherwise."
"Oh, I understand. Be safe then."
"I will. Have a nice day." (Y/n) grabs her purse and leaves the hospital.

Dazai looks over and smiles. "You're back."
"And you're not working anymore. Kunikida kick you out of the office?"
"Nah, for once I finished my work early. Plus I wanted to be here when you got home."
"Thank you Osa. I'm glad you're here. What should we have for dinner?"
"Can I ask you something first?"
"Of course." She answers looking in the fridge for dinner ideas.
"Why do you go to the doctor so often? Are you sick?"
"No I'm not sick."
There is a small pause before Dazai continues.
"You didn't answer my question."
"You asked if I was sick."
"Now you're avoiding it. Little mystery please tell me what's wrong."

"Nothing is wrong at all."
"Then why are you going to the hospital so often? I'd like to think if a family member or friend was there you wouldn't dodge the question. I'm 98% sure you wouldn't cheat on me with a doctor or nurse or heaven forbid a patient."
"98%? That's it?"
"Cheating is never a 100% guarantee."
(Y/n) frowns and looks away.
Dazai walks over and takes his girlfriend's hand. "Little mystery~" he sing-songs quietly.
"I don't want anything to change between us. I'm scared you'll see me differently and...dump me."

Dazai scoff then laughs. "You're stuck with me now little mystery. I claimed you as my life and death partner so now we have to follow through with that."
(Y/n) takes a deep breath, closes the fridge door then walks to the living room.
The agent follows and sits next to her.
"I was born male and I started my transition at 16 with my parents permission."
"Oh!"
"Please don't-"
"Little mystery, you're still a woman in my eyes. This doesn't change anything. I just now know your journey has been harder than I knew."

Tears stream down her cheeks slowly.
"Do you still love me?"
"Of course I do. And really, you look super good considering you were a boy before."
"Thanks. My doctor says the same thing."
"I'm curious though, do you have old pictures?"
"From when I was a boy? Yeah, you wanna see them, compare maybe?"
The brunette smiles and nods.
(Y/n) walks to her bedroom and pulls out a photo album.
They look through the pictures and enjoy the stories behind them.

Once they finish Dazai smiles and holds his girlfriend close.
"I love you Osa."
"I love you too little mystery." He kisses her temple and she relaxes.
"I'm grateful for your support. I feel safe with you."
"I will always support you."
(Y/n) curls into his body and closes her eyes.
