'i saw on my feed, she looks a little like me'

- cher lloyd

august

August couldn't help but feel jealous. He knew that he came second, third or even last to most people when it came to Sean, and though he tried not to, it affected him. He didn't mean to look so glum, but he did.

He had noticed the man that Sean always fought with. He knew that if that admitted it to his boyfriend, he would get violently injured, but it was true: Ares Cirillo was a beautiful man. He was tall, taller than August but not as tall as Sean.

His body was sculpted beautifully- August could see through the abnormally tight skins the boxer wore. His tanned skin contrasted perfectly against the black material. It was basic, but looked perfect on Ares. His hair matched the skins' colour, and it was fluffy. August longed to touch it, to see if it felt as soft as it looked. And his eyes, oh how his eyes made August feel weak. He shouldn't have thought about his boyfriend's rival in that way, but how could he not?

Ares Cirillo was like a Greek God.

August jumped, out of his thoughts and physically, when his boyfriend stood up. He followed his gaze to see a beautiful, young woman with curly, brown hair, brown skin and-

She looks just like me.

It wasn't just the basics, it was the features too. Her height, her nose, her face shape and jawline. It was all so familiar, and August didn't know whether to be flattered that Sean went to her, or jealous and upset.

He chose to be both.

He tried to get his boyfriend's attention, tapping on the taller man's shoulder multiple times. It was no use. Sean was taken away completely by this girl, and August knew he was going to be the last of Sean's priorities at the time.

Though the man was abusive in more ways than one, he was the only person that gave August any attention. He'd been manipulated into needing Sean, his love and time and sole focus, and right now, August wasn't getting any of that.

He wondered if leaving would put any focus on him, and tested it out. But as he turned around, he didn't see a blond man following. Instead, he saw a slightly shorter, dark-haired man. This made August mildly uncomfortable, and quite wary.

Without meaning to, he picked up his pace and changed his course. Instead of going to the toilet, where he could be cornered and potentially trapped, he chose to go to the exit. He'd have more space out there, and people would be there.

The party had just begun, and August was already leaving. He rolled his eyes and walked outside, onto the rooftop of the building. The sun was just going down, the nighttime setting in. The summer heat wasn't as bad now that it was late, but it was still quite warm and it made August sweat. He couldn't take his sweater off, though. He was too damaged for that.

"You."

The brunet feared turning around, in case it was someone who wanted to hurt him. He did so anyway, fearing a worser scenario for defiance. And there he was, the evening light shining upon his golden skin: Ares Cirillo.

"Me?"

"No, the fucking doorknob. Yes, you."

His voice, though sarcastic and almost bitter, was captivating. Deep, yet silky, and could definitely could any man or woman on their knees.

August was unsure on how to reply. Sean was never sarcastic, or humorous. He was harsh and demanding, unlike Ares. Instead, he waited for the boxer to leave or say something else.
