The car ride to the base felt like it went on for several hours, and once they had gotten closer to the city, the traffic had them holed up. A car crash up ahead, or whatever they announced on the radio. The helicopter that they were meant to fly with, had to leave without them because of the cargo having a deadline somewhere. No one seemed to mind missing their ride out of here though. Because Kimberly and Soap would finally get the medical care they needed before continuing. They had time now.

Price put his phone down as he finished his call with General Shepherd. He wasn't the biggest fan of Shepherd, but he needed to have dialogue with him as well for things to work. He was after all one of the three commanders for the time being of Task Force 141.

Alejandro stopped the car outside the base and turned it off. Kimberly's eyes shot up with joy once she realized that they had finally arrived at the base. That meant no more sitting awkwardly on his lap.
She opened the door and slipped out before the others, stretching her body after being cramped up. She couldn't help but glance at Ghost as he got out, but he stared back. And she could spot that stupid grin under his mask from a mile away. It wasn't that hard to see. Once she felt her face redden she decided to look away. She hurried up to Price, afraid that the Lieutenant would say something to make her even redder. This was just awkward and uncomfortable for her.

-"There's a new bird leaving tonight that we can travel with. It leaves at 10 p.m. Meet me in the main lobby at 9:45 p.m. stat. Not a minute later. Biscuit, Soap, I'll lead way to the infirmary. Follow me... You'll need your tetanus shot and a cocktail of antibiotics. They'll take a lot of tests on you now that we actually have time, just to make sure you're not running some bacterial bomb around," Price said, smirking towards her. Kimberly knew he was talking to her, but that stupid smirk of his annoyed her. She would never hear the end of this car ride, would she?

-"Sure, Captain," Kimberly said as simple as she could. She felt slightly nervous at the word test. Kimberly had been through a lot and exposed to the most down in that basement, and it wouldn't surprise her if she was infested with different kind of bacteria and diseases. She truthfully felt like one big bacteria walking around. And only God knew what those men had given her. Luckily, the minority decided to rape her without a condom.

Soap hurried up beside Kimberly as they followed Price, and he held his hand out towards her. Kimberly gave him a quick smile as she took it, placing her hand in his. Their eyes met, and she noticed that his brow was still furrowed. Which it had been for a long time.
-"Okay, what is it? Do I have something on my face?" Kimberly asked and laughed happily. Soap furrowed his brows further in confusion.
-"What?"
-"Come on, brother. That brow has not unforrowed once since I got back," Kimberly said, raising her eyebrows. Johnny's face seemed to immediately soften, like he wasn't aware of it yet himself.

-"It's a brothers job to worry. You've been gone a long time, Kimberly," Johnny said, giving her hand a firm squeeze. She had been kidnapped for almost two years, and lost to him for over a decade. And that was insane to think about. He lost all contact with her when she was 6.
-"No, that's a fathers job," Price chimed in, smiling at the two of them as they followed behind him. Kimberly grinned towards her brother, who just shrugged in return.
-"Fine."

The three of them walked into the big building - a base somewhere in southern Texas. Kimberly didn't know exactly where, but she knew it wasn't too far from the border. The base was full of soldiers who were running around. Everyone seemed to have a task or an errand to run right now, and everything seemed to be surprisingly under control. It even seemed hectic.

Price led the both of them down to a more quieter place of the base. Less soldiers and less activity. Even less rooms. Both Biscuit and Soap looked around with wondering eyes, curious. They walked through a set of thick automatic glass doors, seeing several rooms down the white, sterile hall. Some rooms had drapes over the windows, while some drapes were wide open, showing a person laying on a gurney or just an empty room.
