Chapter 2

It has been 2 months since Megumi and Mitsuki have moved to Konoha. It is the day that they are getting out of the hospital.

Minato fetched them from their hospital room and sent them to the apartment that they are going to live in.

It is a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and a decent sized living room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the living room has a couch, small tv and bookshelf with some books.

"So this will be your new home. I have personally chosen this flat for the two of you. I want you to be comfortable, as you are a part of Konoha now. You can go out and explore the village for today. Have fun. Cause tomorrow, you will be starting to go to the ninja academy." Minato said as he smiled to the twins.

Mitsuki seemed to be very excited as he kept jumping up and down. While Megumi was looking at Minato with her cold stare. Minato have kind of got used to Megumi's coldness. He knows that these kids are kind-hearted and will become fine shinobis one day.

*Megumi's POV*

I wonder why the blonde man is being nice to us. Is he going to ask for something big in return? What if we cannot give him what he wants? Will we get killed?

I know that my brother is very excited with all of what has been happening since we moved to Konoha but I cannot just trust anyone. I need to protect my brother and I need to be very careful.

I kept staring at the blonde man's eyes. I am not sure if I did something wrong because he stopped talking to Mitsuki and started looking back at me with a smile on his face.

"You don't have to worry, Megumi. You and Mitsuki are safe here in Konoha. You can trust me. If you need anything, you can come to me anytime."

And with that, he left the apartment.

*Mitsuki's POV*

Minato sensei said that I can call him sensei from now on. He will be one of our teachers and I am really excited to start at the ninja academy!

I can sense that Megumi does not really trust Minato sensei yet. I know that she is worried about us but Minato sensei have shown nothing but goodness eversince he found us in the cave.

Maybe if I ask her to eat something nice with me outside, she might relax a bit.

"Megumi, do you want to eat somewhere nice? Minato sensei gave me some money." I gave her my signature smile. A smile wherein even my eyes are smiling.

"How can you accept money from someone you just met, Mitsuki? You have to be very careful. You do not know this man." I know that Megumi is starting to get very pissed off.

"You have to chill, sis. Minato sensei is a nice guy. You have to relax. I'll treat you to a ramen shop. Minato sensei said that Ichiraku is the famous one here."

*Time skip*

It took me a bit of strength pulling Megumi to Ichiraku but it was worth it. Minato sensei was right, this is the best ramen ever!

Megumi has calmed down a bit and I noticed her staring at the white-haired kid sitting next to her.

"Uhm Megu, it's kinda rude to stare. Will you stop doing that here in Konoha?" I had to whisper to her so that the kid won't hear... But I guess he did...

The white-haired kid stopped eating his ramen, put on his mask and looked back at Megumi.

"I can see that you are new here. You must be the one that Minato sensei was talking about. I am Hatake Kakashi." Kakashi stretched out his arm to shake hands with Megumi but my dear sister just stared at his hand... All I can do was a face palm.

*Megumi's POV*

I am not sure why this white-haired guy is stretching out his hand and why is he wearing a mask. Did he do something to keep his identity hidden?

I heard my brother talk beside me as I continue to stare at this Hatake Kakashi's hand.

"Sis, you need to shake his hand. Remember that day when mama was teaching us on how to do the hand shake when meeting new people? It goes the same here. It doesn't hurt. Try it!" My brother was whispering to my ears but I could feel that he wanted to shout. I did not want to upset him so I shook Kakashi's hand.

*Kakashi's POV*

There is something weird shaking this girl's hand.

1. Her hand is very cold like ice
2. She does not smile at all during the introduction
3. Her cheeks had a slight tint of pink when she was shaking my hand

I guess all of these are just because these kids are from a cold place.

Anyway, Minato sensei told me that they are nice kids, so I should be friendly towards them.

"Nice to meet you Hatake Kakashi. This is my sister, Megumi. I am Mitsuki. We are from the Yuki clan."

Mitsuki shook my hand. His hand was not cold like Megumi's and he was very friendly, unlike his sister. Wait, did he just say Yuki clan?

"You are from the Yuki clan? But I thought the clan was-" before I could finish my sentence, Megumi cut me off and said

"Yes, we are the survivors of that incident. It was nice to meet you. I hope we can get along well." She looked into my eyes again. This time, with a little bit of warmth but she still wasn't smiling. I wonder what did they have to go through to be able to survive that terrible thing.

"Anyway, sorry Kakashi, it's getting late. We better hurry back home. We are starting at ninja academy tomorrow." Mitsuki gave me a smile. There is something reassuring with his smile. It felt like home by just looking at it.

"Sure. It was nice to meet you both. See you around."

When they left Ichiraku, I heard Mitsuki say this to Megumi not from afar "You did so well, sis! Way to go! You have to start to be friendly. A great shinobi is not only powerful, but also a friend to everyone!"
