Chapter 13

*Kakashi's POV*

Megumi wanted to visit Minato sensei's grave before we head back to the apartment. I have told her about the attack of the nine tails while we were getting ready to head out.

When we reached Minato sensei's grave, she broke down on her knees and has been crying for about an hour now. I tried to comfort her by rubbing her back but she just wouldn't stop crying.

A few moments later, she finally stopped but she wouldn't speak. She stood up, wobbled a bit, and started to walk.

"Let's go..." Those are the only words that she said. We spent our time walking to the apartment in silence.

When we reached the apartment, it was already dark and Mitsuki was not home yet. He is probably busy at work again with the current Hokage.

Megumi sat on the couch, looked at me and asked "Where did you get your Sharingan?" I did not want to answer her question but I had to tell her. I have always been honest with her.

I told her what happened with Rin and Obito. She listened attentively as I speak, and I noticed the tears in her eyes are starting to fall again.

She turned her sad gaze into mine and said, "I'm so sorry, Kakashi..." She uttered those words with such pain that I was able to feel it in my chest. I did not want to cry in front of her, so instead, I looked at her and gave a smile.

She cried even more...

"Megu, this is not good for you... Mitsuki will kill me for making you cry like this. I wasn't even supposed to tell you today." I told her as I rubbed her back.

She calmed down and told me that she would like to rest. She went to her room (that me and Mitsuki have been cleaning since her return), and I waited for Mitsuki in the living room to return back from work before I left.

*Megumi's POV*

I woke up with a terrible headache because of too much crying last night and I probably only have slept for 2 hours. I took a cold shower and changed into a tight black sweatpants and a black shirt that looked like crop top on me. I have tied my hair in a high bun and wore the cat eye clear glasses that the doctor have asked me to wear during my recovery period. It will help me stop using my eyes in any battle and/or turning them into icy blue.

When I went out of my room, Mitsuki immediately greeted me a "Good Morning." He was clearly waiting for me.

"You're finally awake. I took an urgent leave today to spend some time with my sister." Mitsuki grinned at me and added, "Kakashi have told me what happened yesterday... Don't push yourself too much, Megumi." He stood up and walked towards the door.

"Let's eat brunch at Ichiraku?" His eyes are now smiling too. His signature smile.

I couldn't help but smile back at my brother. Unfortunately, I was only able to give a weak smile due to my terrible headache.

After eating at Ichiraku, me and my brother took a stroll in the streets of Konoha. We spent our time talking, laughing, and shopping for food and some clothes. I have outgrown all my clothes at home.

We felt tired and hungry after shopping for a couple of hours, so we stopped by my favorite dango shop and ate some dangos.

"Megu, I'm am so glad that you're back. You have changed a lot though... In a good way." He grinned and added, "By the way, I am dating a girl. You should meet her soon."

"Really? That's awesome! Set a date then! I'm free for the next 12 months anyway." I smiled back at him. I knew that my brother would be dating someone soon. A lot of girls are swarming around him. He is very tall, even taller than Kakashi and is very outgoing.

I felt a throbbing pain in my head but I chose to ignore it. We're going home after eating dangos anyway...

When I finished my last bite, 2 anbu members showed up in front of us.

"Yuki Megumi. The Hokage, Lord Danzo, and the rest of the council are summoning you now. Please come with us. It won't take that long." Said the one with a cat mask. I knew right away that it was Tenzo, because of his height and hairstyle.

I nodded at Tenzo and when I looked at Mitsuki to say goodbye, he looked at me with worry in his eyes. He then took all the shopping bags that I was holding and said:

"Don't push yourself too much, sis."

*Kakashi's POV*

All of us, high-ranked Anbu members, are gathered in a room. There were around 50 of us and we sat on the floor in front of the Hokage, Lord Danzo, and the council, who are seated in front with a long table in front of them.

"Looks like she has arrived." Lord Danzo spoke and when the door opened, a girl in an anbu uniform with a fox mask entered. It was Megumi.

What is she doing here??

Megumi gave a bow to the leaders and sat formally on the floor with her head looking down.

"The person in front of us is the best one in the Foundation. She did countless S-ranked missions in the past 6 years and she is here to update us with what has been happening." Lord Danzo proudly said.

Megumi first talked about Orochimaru's whereabouts and how to easily locate him. She also informed us of what he has been doing, and the information about his experiments and the shinobis who are guarding him.

She said a lot of updates after that, and said that there are no signs of danger for Konoha as of the moment.

"Well done. What about the village with no name? Do you have any news about it?" Lord Danzo asked while smirking.

"There is no news about it because we have killed every single one of them a few years ago. We are safe from that clan." Megumi said in a very cold tone.

"That is right. The people residing at that village were the survivors from the Yuki clan. They found refuge in between Konoha and Tetsu. They have a very dangerous and powerful kekkei genkai called "ice release" and if we did not do anything about it, they will be attacking Konoha in no time, believing that the person who massacred 80% of their clan is from our village. Thank you for keeping Konoha safe." Lord Danzo nodded at Megumi. She kept her gaze down on the floor.

What does this mean? She killed her own people? Is this where her sadness is coming from?

"The reason why I gathered all of you here is because she will be having a break from being an anbu and I will be needing a handful to replace her. The chosen ones will be announced in the next 3 days. I will need to discuss with the Hokage first." Lord Danzo said.

Lord Danzo continued to ask Megumi a lot of questions and the entire meeting took 2 hours to finish. When Lord Danzo said that Megumi may go, she stood up and when she turned around, she caught my gaze.

Her eyes are as cold as ice.

She looked at me for a second and tried to hold all of her emotions inside. She then looked away and left the room.
