Chapter 3

*Megumi's POV*

While me and my brother was getting ready for our first day at the academy, there was a knock on the door. When I opened it, I caught myself staring at Minato sensei and Kakashi. I obviously did not know what to do, so my brother ran towards us.

"Good Morning Mitsuki and Megumi! I can see that you are both ready. I will be sending the both of you and Kakashi here to the academy." Minato sensei said with a grin on his face. While Kakashi, he was on his usual self, I guess, with his lazy look.

I looked at Minato sensei and said "That is great, I gue-" I heard my brother behind me to cut me off

"What she meant, Minato sensei, is that we are more than grateful to have you stand as our parent for our first day at the academy! And of course, together with Kakashi." Mitsuki have told them with his signature smile.

"Well then, we better get going! We don't want to be late on the first day!" Minato sensei said after making a hand sign.

When I blinked, I was very surprised that we were already in front of the academy gates.

"Wow!! What kind of jutsu is that, Minato sensei?? Is it the transportation jutsu?" My brother excitedly asked.

Minato sensei just looked at my brother and gave him a smile, with his eyes smiling as well.

When we reached our classroom, I went to my seat and waited for the teacher. Mitsuki already started talking to some of our classmates. I could tell that he was very happy and excited.

I felt that there were eyes looking at me. I felt a bit uncomfortable and just looked down.

A few minutes after, there were some boys who came towards me and said:

"You must be the beautiful Megumi from the Yuki clan. I would like you to be mine someday."

"Every boy here has a crush on you even just on the first day. Can't you see that?"

Hearing them say these makes me wonder what I did wrong. I just wanted to be left alone. I kept staring at them without saying anything, when the other boy said:

"No, she will be mine. A beautiful and fine kunoichi from the wiped out Yuki clan."

Hearing this made my heart ache and I did not realize that my vision was slowly blurring.

*Kakashi's POV*

The classroom was not that huge but I guess it's suitable for learning. When I made my eyes observe every corner of the room, I saw Megumi staring at some of the boys, her mouth slightly parted, and I could tell that she was about to cry. I immediately called her name and went to her.

"Hey, Megumi! Do you want to sit with me? We can get ramen later with Mitsuki after the class." I gave her a grin with my eyes smiling. I saw her reaction change from being sad to being surprised. The boys looked at me, most of them pissed off but I don't really care.

"S-sure." Megumi said and looked down. She must have felt very uncomfortable talking to these bunch of idiots on the first day. I held her hand and pulled her towards the seat beside me.

Her hand was surprisingly colder this time, compared to the first day that we met at Ichiraku's.

"T-thank you, Kakashi." Megumi said while still looking down. I gave her a smile but she probably did not see that.

*Time skip to a year*

*Writer's POV*

Kakashi, Megumi, and Mitsuki are all 6 years old now. Kakashi and Megumi graduated from the academy became genins and immediately got promoted to chunin, while Mitsuki stayed in the academy.

Kakashi was considered a genius in his age, while Megumi had a great grasp of the Yuki clan's kekkei genkai - ice release, so their teachers thought that there is no reason for them to stay at the academy. Konoha is also in need of shinobis, so graduating early would greatly benefit the village.

After the graduation, Minato, now the 4th hokage of Konoha, continued to train Kakashi and Megumi. They train almost everyday, as he thought that these kids are special. Their talents should not go to waste.
