Chapter 40

*Obito's POV*

I was watching Megumi's peaceful slumber when I saw her forehead twitch and slowly opened her eyes.

"You are awake. How are you feeling?" I squeezed her hand in mine.

"I am fine, I guess..."

She tried to sit up but was too weak to do so. So I ended up helping her and she rested her back against the frame of our bed.

"I have a very bad headache, Tobi..." She said like a whisper.

"Let me feed you with soup. You might feel better after."

I took the warm soup from the bedside table and started feeding her. She did not talk and she looked weak.

"You overdid yourself out there, Megumi."

"You said I was ready."

"You were but that was too much and unnecessary."

"It's just that, Kakashi pissed me off. He looks at me with sadness in his eyes. It made me angry cause I felt like he pities me. Is it because I'm from the Yuki clan who lost her eyes and cannot do certain jutsus like before?"

Her anger grew inside her and she did not even notice that her Sharingan was activated.

"You need to calm down, Megumi. Now is not the time for this. If you are really angry with Kakashi, I'd be happy to kill that man for you."

"No, I want to do it with my own hands. I'll make him realize that he should have taken me seriously."

I cupped Megumi's face in my hands and gave her a kiss on the forehead. When I looked back at her eyes, it was back to normal, which means she have calmed down.

"I know you will. For now, I'd like you to rest. I'll be off to meet Pain."

"How is the Yuki doing?" Pain asked sternly

"She went to Konoha with Itachi and Kisame."

"And?"

"She does not remember a single thing."

"You better keep her on watch."

"You do not have to remind me. I came here to talk about our plan."

"Go on"

"Infinite Tsukuyomi will only work when we acquire all the nine tails. I have divided everyone into teams. Now for Megumi, I'd like her to continue doing missions for our funds. She is our most requested assassin and she is not partnered with anyone as of the moment."

"Do you think she can survive alone?"

"She is a Yuki with a Mangekyo sharingan."

"Well then."

*1 week later*

"Megumi, from today onwards you'll be doing missions on your own. I believe you won't be needing this cloak for a while."

I took off Megumi's Akatsuki's cloak and looked into her eyes. I kissed her passionately, slid my tongue, and grabbed her ass.

"I'm going to miss you."

"Me too, Tobi..."

"Don't worry, I'll always be watching you."

She cupped my face with her hand and smiled

"I'll have my missions done quickly and come back to you."

"I'll be waiting."

*Megumi's POV*

My first mission is very easy. It is to kill a shinobi in the land of Grass. This shinobi have been caught secretly selling information to other lands. Land of Grass doesn't have the guts to slay him cause the people love him.

It took me about 3 days to reach the land of Grass. I plan to end the mission as quickly as I can, so I immediately went to the bbq restaurant where the shinobi spends his time everyday.

I braided my black long hair up to the ends of it, and wore something that wouldn't stood up in the crowd. Black shirt, black cycling shorts, and black shinobi sandals.

When I went inside the restaurant, I immediately saw my target. Women circling around him.

I continued to eat my meal and observed my surroundings. I just need to wait for a bit more... A few minutes later, he stood up and went out.

I followed him and when we were already somewhere secluded, he started to speak.

"I know that you have been watching me. What does a beautiful lady like you doing here?" He turned around and looked at me with a smirk.

I immediately threw an icy needle that would send him to his death but he was able to dodge it.

"You are good, lady. But not enough."

He started threwing kunais at me. I dodged them all except for one. It hit my leg. It was an invisible kunai.

"what the?"

"surprised?"

I activated my mangekyo sharingan but I still couldn't see the invisible kunais. When he threw some more, I called Susanoo to protect me. His eyes grew bigger and sweat started to drip on his face

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU????" He yelled

I sent thousands of icy needles and pierced every part of his flesh. He screamed in pain and I heard footsteps coming.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHH HEEEEELP"

I must end this now.

I quickly kneeled beside him as he cried in pain, and ended his suffering by slicing his neck with my icy kunai.

I used transportation jutsu to leave and jumped from roof to roof quietly to leave the area. Some shinobis from the Land of Grass found me and ran after me.

They lost me in the woods. However... I forgot that there was still an invisible kunai in my leg. I saw purple liquid coming out of my wound together with my blood. I paused hopping on the trees and took out the kunai.

That was painful.

I continued hopping through the trees despite the pain but I felt myself becoming weak.

Shit. The kunai had poison.

I reached the end of the woods and saw tombstones... This looks familiar.

I walked a bit further and saw the name "Namikaze Minato"

"Minato s-sensei?" I whispered to myself.

My knees started to tremble and I realized that I couldn't stand any longer. My head started to throb and I couldn't help it but shed a tear.

What is this feeling?

I let myself fall but to my surprise, somebody caught my very weak and trembling body...

A white-haired man with a mask. I looked at him as he wiped the tears on my cheek and said

"You're home."
