Chapter 20

*Kakashi's POV*

I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard a noise.

Megumi.

I ran to her bedroom and saw that she was having one of those nightmares again. Mitsuki have warned me about this.

I shook her body and woke her up. She is having a cold sweat and is crying. When she opened her eyes, her ice release was activated, sending icy needles towards me but I was able to dodge.

She groaned, putting some pressure on her eyes with her hands, trying to ease the pain.

"Megumi... Are you alright?" I sat beside her and rubbed her shoulders.

"I should be the one asking you that... I'm so sorry... I forgot to take my meds last night for my nightmares..." She looked at me with her dark blue eyes.

I hugged her closer to my chest and rubbed her back until she falls asleep.

*2 days later*

*Megumi's POV*

Kakashi has been away for a mission. He's been staying here at the apartment with me and would not leave eversince he witnessed the scenario when I was having a nightmare.

I put on my black hoodie, paired it with shorts and went for a walk. People in Konoha have been very friendly with me lately. They said that they have been hearing a lot of great things about me from Lord Danzo.

Great things...

As I walked towards the park, I saw Shisui train with an unknown boy. I have met Shisui in one of the meetings with the Hokage and was impressed with his abilities. He became a jonin at a very young age.

When their sparring stopped, Shisui waved at me.

"Megumi senpai!

I waved back and ran towards them.

"Hi Shisui, it's been a while! So uh, may I join?" I asked with a smile on my face.

The dark-haired boy looked at me in wonder.

"Itachi, this is Megumi senpai. She is the top member of the anbu. Megumi senpai, this is Itachi. He is my friend from the Uchiha clan." Shisui said.

Before I could say a word, Itachi asked,

"You are one of the survivors of the Yuki clan. How are you going to fight us if you cannot use your ice release with that that glasses?"

My face turned serious and said, "Hmm, that is a good question. What if we train for shuriken jutsu today?"

Both of them nodded and all of us started sparring against each other.

These kids are great. I have sent them hundreds of flying kunais and they were able to dodge all of them. One wrong mistake and I'll surely get a severe cut from their shurikens too.

After 2 hours of sparring, we sat at the bench overlooking the river and stayed there for a while.

"You are strong Megumi senpai." Itachi said and added, "I'd like to see your ice release in our next sparring."

"Thanks, Itachi. You are great too, considering your age. I'm afraid that I cannot use my ice release until a couple of months... But when I do, I will make sure to fight you with that. You can use your Sharingan too." I winked at him and he smiled.

A few minutes later, we heard a small boy's voice.

"Niisan! Niisan!"

We all looked at the dark haired boy who looks exactly like Itachi.

"I have to go back now for dinner." Itachi said and quickly stood up to greet his little brother.

"Hi Shisui! Niisan, who is that girl?" The boy looked at Itachi.

"That's Megumi senpai, Sasuke. She is a great kunoichi" Itachi said and smiled at him.

Sasuke's eyes grew wide and asked,

"Really? Do you think she can come to our training someday?" He asked Itachi excitedly.

"Of course, maybe someday.." Itachi said with sadness in his eyes.

I wonder what that meant. When I looked at Shisui, he looked down towards the ground.

Something's not right...

We said our goodbyes and I went back home. When I opened the door, I was surprised to see some food on the table.

It was from Kakashi and he left a note:

I dropped by to have an early dinner with you but you were out, unfortunately. I'll be off to my next mission. Don't forget to eat your meals. - Kashi :)

I sat on the couch and ate my dinner alone. It felt good to train with Shisui and Itachi. I honestly missed being in an anbu.

I was bored to death at home so I have decided to train with Itachi and Shisui at least twice a week and I started to read more books about my jutsu.
